To Answer mickfanning, I have always noticed an extreme increase in growth and production when the plant reaches the bottom of the bucket around 2-3 weeks .The plant should be taking off around that time anyway so there is really no reason to restrict the growth. You can trim the roots with ok results if the plant started from clone .I only suggest this for mother plants.If started from seed I don't recommend trimming the roots. I have not noticed any obvious advantage from trimming the roots.The roots will fill the top bucket any way you do it so clogging and slow drainage can be an issue either way.The plant does greatly appreciate the roots in the reservoir but you will need to keep the pump on 24/7 to prevent root rot and stunted growth.To reduce the noise you can cut the white air column an inch or more to bring up the bubble action a little from the bottom and put the bucket on top of foam board(all kinds at the home improvement store and cheap). It is a pain to lift the top bucket from the bottom. I have to do this every now and again cuz the roots are beast but I would rather take a few minute to adjust the roots than go through the same process to chop them off. Hope this helps.

Oh yeah !, I have started things in all kinds of the plugs in the waterfarms with only negative results. At the very least very slow growth.If they are already in the plugs then don't put them in more stuff just go for the rocks. I think Im gonna try a cantaloupe (the fruit) in the waterfarm.

I trimmed a lot of fan leaves befre the picture hiddenface.just to get them outta the way before the chop, plus some were crispy ugly anyway... I look forward to seeing your cantaloupe waterfarm because cantaloupe is my all time favorite fruit. i too use waterfarm, but dont really expect that much yield lol...maybe with time.

lol, doggie.
. i weighted everything and i have 19 oz dry bud from that one jack herer girl!!! unfortunately its not all primo nuggets. i say about 13 oz is primo dry nugs , then the rest is shake and not so purty buds. Man if i only had her alone in the tent unstressed i could have had more primo nuggets. oh well, still a massive haul. I also have a L bow of really primo leaves from mostly jack, some bubba kush and .FruityPebblesOG.So lots of medicinal material to work with. i tried hooking up my new 13 gallon res to my one waterfarm and its not going to work. First prob is i cant have it in the tent , so i have to run the tubing through the ducting vent hole and its not flat connetion, What i need to do is get a small rez under the waterfarm bucket for extra food to pump up to the bucket but i have NO idea how to do this. Can anyone help me figure out what i need. Scottyballs had one, but i don't know how he did it. have a nice weekend!

Actually Thats The Way I Would Assumed It Would Sound.I Have 3 Ideas That Just Popped Into My Head That May Or May Not Work.1)Get A Smaller Pump For Your Recirculating Bucket.My Thought Here Is Maybe The Air Is Causing Most Of The Noise.2)Use the T-Connector Form The DripRing.My Thinking Here Is That The T-Connector Will Act As A Noise Dampening Device.3)Get A 1/2 Hose Mount It To The Top Of Your Air Collium And Run It Around The Top Of Your Recirculating Res.Again This Is A Noise Dampening Idea.Hope This Helps Ya Out Sis.
And No I Dont Own A Cat.Ive Seen Others Use The Tidy Cat Buckets For Extra Res's.I Actually Have The David Sunflower Seed Buckets.However Since Ive Switched To Leds I Dont Have A Need For The Extra Res.I Can Leave My 3 1/2 Gallon Buckets For 3 Days With No Worries Of My Ladies Running Out Of Nute Solution
Now On A Side Note.Make Sure Your Float Valve Is Adjusted Correctly.You Dont Want Your WaterFarm To Flood Your Tent

I am doing my first hydro grow now in 2 waterfarms. I am running 2 clones of Dinafem Bluehash under 2 AF51-90s. I will harvest tomorrow and will post pics.
So much in common with you peeps.
I have a Female Seeds C99 vegging from seed. I will clone her tomorrow for the first time.
My new waterfarm controller is assembled but not yet connected to the system. I have not tried it out yet. It was good to see a video of your trial.
I have 4 other waterfarms vegging. 3 with Bluehash clones and 1 with a brand new sprout of White label Northern Lights. I will start 12/12 in about 2 or 3 weeks.This pic was taken Oct 18. They all come down tomorrow at day 54. They could use a week more but I need to leave for vacation.
