yeha that’s what I was thinking originally... but since I haven’t gotten any of my construction done I’m working with a VERY uneven surface, I was originally gonna run pc drip in lines down rows of pots but I could get them straight enough...

So far a sprinkler has worked well, and I’m hand feeding right now...
Multiple oscillating ones one the short burst going round and round on 5 gal. buckets. With the pots arranged in circles to match the spray circumfrence. Then add a timer. Really cheap. Easy and automatic.

I’m a bit weary of dousing the plants with nutes...

I’ve been using a sprinkler to water tho.

Have you fed with a sprinkler?

Hosta overstock in the early eighties at the greenhouse. Massive waste of resources. And deposits on leaves we had to rinse off daily. then we top dressed and just watered. Only way I would do with it my girls now. A Tbs on each should hold you over for a month or 6 weeks. Like I said at the start. You are out of my league. But principles still apply.

Glad to help. No fun when you can't find info. And even questionable opinions turn the ole mental cogs. Good luck. I got my hands full with 13. And it's strictly personal.

Make sure the sprinklers have hose attachments on both ends. Massive yields all my friend003.jpg004.jpg.

Don't waste your time or money. My almost 6' ( due to topping the last 6 weeks, to remain legal) x 9' mother is in a 10 gallon hole with my soil. Smaller plants are in 5 gal holes. 10 gal. of good soil mix with minimum feeding until flower will easily grow 8 to 10" footers. 5 gals should finish at around 8'. Massive holes aren't needed in ground. Only in pots. And the raised bed thing is great. I emptied mine this year of 4 year old compost. Need to refill it when my new pile is ready in the spring. Better results than exposed sand, clay and topsoil. Less watering as well.

The strains are :Pre 98 BK, 2 strains of gg4(3 phenos), Northern Lights, Dragon Fruit(2phenomes), Lucky Charms(3phenomes), Snow Temple(2phenomes). The big GG4 is 11 months old. Last years mother. The Northern is around 6 mos. The rest are almost 11 weeks from seed. Would be larger held them in 2 gal pots for 3-5 weeks past optimum planting. Waiting to show sex. But I have a reliable, easy stress free system until harvest.

On pots or massive holes. In ground is better. Only pain is pulling roots after season. I use a high percentage of coco to make it easier though.
Yeah, for sure. I was like yeah, beds have worked great for me... I did pots last year, they were cool but dried out too quickly for me.

This will have way more soil volume, and gonna use a coco mix.

I’ve hand watered 1,000 one gallon pots before when I was selling clones and teens.
but I only did it for maybe 2 months. The real bitch was transplanting 1,000 4” pots into 1 gallon pots.

I just re read this. Must have medicated the first time. The bed is made of 2" x 10" treated decking planks. It is 8.5' square. And 4'x4' post cut to 18" and 45 degree points on the bottom end. Assembled with 3 3.5" square drive stainless deck screws at ends of planks. Rock solid. Also weathered the lumber for two years before using. Get rid of the chemicals. Had new treated border kill all my decorative plants within 8-10" one year. Never again.

But fill the beds with a good peat and topsoil mixture. Then top with compost. Dig holes to size desired and fill with soil mix for chosen plant species. It's a bit pricey for the base mix and compost on a large scale. But no where near the price of filling giant pots with soil grow mix. And then just a fresh layer of compost with an amendment to the soil mix in the fall and right before you grow and you should have better soil than you started with. Make compost with anything non citrus and non toxic from plant sources especially your leaf trimmings and stems in fall. You paid for those nutes. Don't throw them away. I do remove my compost and empty my holes about 50-70% every fourth year. Feed it to the compost pile to begin it again.
