watering sprout question

ok i have 6 new plants about to come up
one actually has the false leaves out and everything
some green is showing in 3 other cups
and im sure the majority will be up in the morning
seen plant sprout a couple times sad to say not much past that
but i am determined to smoke the females of these six... well smoke/mother

so the question is i put the germinated seeds in the dixie cups at about noon day before last
watered them till it came out the bottom of the cup
and i just got off work so i checked on the babies and the dirt looks dry and i tried to do the finger check but they are dixie cups
so when i put my finger in it disturbs the soil quite a bit
i dont want to harm the seedlings but i need to make sure they have the necessary water

how should i do this?

thank you for your replies

Maybe stick a hollow bic pen or some other hollow tube into the soil. It should pick up some soil inside the tube that you can check. Or stick a stiff piece of cardboard in the soil, and see if it's damp when you pull it out.

ok i tried it with a straw and i didnt really get much when i went an inch deep
but when i went about 2 inchs it was a little damp (a little)

cardboard test kinda wanted to laugh

so when it comes to watering seedlings just do the normal and water till it comes out the bottom?
or will it drowned them?
dont want to ruin them this time and i know this is a very crucial part of there life

thank you already tremendous help so far

i just water mine until the soil is thoroughly wet and try to keep it moist at all times when its young
