Wax turned from brown to yellow in a bong.

I just purchased some wax that was brown colored and gooey and after smoking it out of the dabber the resin in the bong is bright yellow and looks like honey comb. Is there a way to refine what i have or is the yellow just a byproduct? Tried purging some of it in hot water and nothing really happened. Also have some soaking in everclear to see if that changes the color of it.

it wont be yellow but you can salvage it yes. i use ever clear clean my piece then evaporate off the everclear and i use it for edibles

yeah i'm not trying to take it out of the bong. I'm more interested in the fact that after dabbing it changes color. So it's safe to say the color has nothing to do with the purity?

in most cases no, it has to do with temps that it was purged at, unless its green then that is because of chlorophyll.

that stuff in your bong will also darken. im in the same boat... brand new bong. first chunks were nice and yellow. now theyre turning brownish redish.
