You are overwatering, gotta let the soil dry completely. Add more soil for support when they stretch like that. No , you won’t get smokeable on a window sill. Just watch the Deals thread and get a cheap light.

how can the smell of flowering plants be described? is it just like sticking your nose into a bag of good cured buds? what else can it be compared to for the unenlightened

i planted five beans after starting them in a paper towel but I think I left them too long because they sprouted long tails and were tricky to settle into the soil.

so far I got one that didn't sprout yet, one that sprouted fairly well and three that are runts. next time I will plant directly into soil. this is 2/27/22 mid/late winter in long island (east coast), new york. window facing east. indoor temp from 67 to 70 degrees. 1 cat. plants need to be rotated toward the sun every day is it possible to grow these and get any yield at all using only this window light
Yes it is possible to grow plants with sunshine only but there are many factors to consider.

IMHO you have started way too early for your location...typically I start no sooner than mid-April

For those who live in northern climates, it's much better to use auto's because photos won't start to flower until mid-July, which means you won't harvest until late October.....so this is possible but not practical

Also, you are facing east which is not ideal as the morning sun is not as strong..... how many hours/day of direct sunshine will you get?

Below are a few pic's of my indoor sunshine grows

Led is wicked bright, start at the lowest setting. It gets to be a balancing act of brightness and distance but i like the J1k too, and free sunglasses:cool:

thanks for the cat, window, build up soil, dry out, and tent advice.

isk, looks like you have a nice grow going in your living space. you must have some great sun.

i gave up trying to use only east window light. now on day 19 after germination and i have 5 spindly seedlings in 6" plastic pots. i got a 12" x 14" jeranktek 128 led grow light and a timer, will go 16/8 hours.

i was figuring to make a temporary stand for the light. as luck would have it i found a small plant table my wife had and the light fit PERFECTLY underneath it, which i zip-tied to the table legs with the light facing down. hopefully with this better light i can rescue these five fragile beings. im going to start some flowers too.

for seedling starter soil i used "black gold organic seedling mix":

when should i start feeding them....
