Im thinking light stress combined with overfeeding. I started with DWC and found out quickly that too high ppm in the reservoir would cause all sorts of issues. Id back off the light intensity and lower my ppm

The Masterblend 4-18-38 I used is perfect for veging.
So at flowering next time. I'll continue to that mixteur, but drop off the magnesium sulfate and calcium nitrate. Supplement it with cal-mag.
Or just use what your showing me. Maxibloom.
Thoughts?

Have you used a calculator like hydro buddy? Learning about elemental PPM's and nutrient ratios has helped me a ton.. now I go to the calculator, plug-in #'s, calculate feeds/ratios and weigh/mix inputs with confidence. I mean, come-on man, it's weed, it's hard to kill a Weed.
Well, I have had to eat a lot of words. My crop was a failure. Im fricking pissed.

Time to put it behind me, and get this shit right.

I know I'm at the right place. Time to buckle down.

There's a small learning curve getting the hydro's working right.
Nothing too special, but knowing the basics well.

The growth speed difference between the soil and hydro is just uncomparable.
The limitless supply of oxygen and water with proper nutrients produces some magnificent growth.

I'm sure we'll hear you growing your veggies and greens in NFT gutters or something in no time.

Of course, my pleasure. I was/am one to experiment to see what really works (for me) and what doesn't, so no harm in learning for yourself.. staying positive about it is key! One can always start over and within 8-12 weeks have a room/tent full of flowers.

Also, there might be something to stressing the plant (removing nitrogen, esp. toward the end of flower) to developing more trichomes and terpenes, but may not yield as much bud weight. For example, how in soil a plant reaches senescence by no longer top-dressing/feeding. Same can be done in hydro by not feeding it nitrogen the last couple weeks, while some nutrient companies recommend you taper the entire line..

Afaik, phosphorus levels require a higher ratio of calcium to keep "balanced", ie 1P (60ppms) to 2(or 3)Ca (120-180ppms) ect. Using "60ppms" of elemental phosphorus (inputting on calculator like "HydroBuddy") as a starting point, a ratio of 2n-1p-3k-2ca-1mg or something similar works out pretty well for flower (elemental ppm's 120n-60p-180k-120ca-60mg) for example.

Cannabis plants will grow in just about anything really.. but (for me) it's nice to track nutrients with the spread sheet for hydro. That way, when I do make a minor adjustment, i can observe how it's affecting the plants.

All it takes is practice/observations. When I was getting back into growing I was using the Keep It Simple Stoner method while constantly checking/searching RIU and growweedeasy.com for leaf/pest pictures for reference.. we all have to start somewhere! As @cage said, there is a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes second nature. Wishing you the best of luck! You got this!!

People like me, need people like you. You dive into the meat of things, and understand the mechanics.

I'm just looking for the right recipe, to get me from start to finish. With a respectable out come.

Flipped the lights. Changed to Masterblend 10-30-20 stand alone. Told to omit Cn,Ms.

I didn't know any better.

If you can grow veggies, there's no reason you shouldn't have success with cannabis. In fact, most people would be far better served to get growing info from sources other than weed forums. Treat it like a pepper and you'll have few problems. Most cannabis-specific info is completely bogus.

Ahh, not all is lost! How does it smell?? You can make coconut oil or butter with it if you've a croc-pot. Don't feel bad, seriously.. It was your first time and it's okay to learn from the mistake(s). This is how NOT to grow next time, check.

I've not much experience in DWC hydro, the ratio levels I'm referring to are used in DTW coco coir and I personally haven't used masterblend but I can input the #'s onto the calculator when I'm able.

What was the recipe you were using in veg? And, what does masterblend recommend you feed at during bloom?

Here is an example of Jack's 321:

So if we were to use the trusted recipe "Jack's 321" as a standard example, we can use the calculator to reach similar profiles. This is masterblend 4-18-38 @ 2g MB, 2g CaNit, 2g Epsom
