Weird black pods on the plant stem

I just found same thing on my indoor plant picked them off and sprayed them with dont bug me and the spots they were attached the bugs live inside that thing and feed on the sap from what I have found but I could be wrong and some can attract black mold that's never good .

Ants mining aphids for there honeydew


I gots some vid of stoner ants.. nothing to do with aphids for sure... but ants hell yeah... do you have a few 20-30 ants on the stem? if not it's scale.. but

I had ants in my 2011 grow I thought it was the molassess bringing em in.. this year they were there b4 the molassess added

Thanks for your help guys. No wonder my leaves were looking lime green. I had the scale infestation for a while but didn't think much of it. I didn't think they would be insects. Well time to go kill em!

I don't have as many ants as you, but there are enough for me to notice the scales. I was following the ant trail when I saw the black pods.

Pull those fuckers off and spray the ants are harvesting the honey dew the pods create I fount 6 of these now all on 1variety and I have a few to choose from so they must like certain plants anyone notice this as well they were on 1strain at two opposite ends of the garden .
