Well Water- High PPM?

I dug a shallow (10ft) well for supplying water. The well water has high ppm; around 600ppm and a ph of 6.8. The water is fairly dirty/murky, could the high ppm be from dirt suspended in the water? Should I disregard the 600ppm when adding nutes? IE- if I'm shooting for 1000ppm should I add nutes until its at 1600ppm? Thanks in advance for your advice.

I stopped reading when you mentioned you dug a well.

I can't stop laughing. You dug your own well? Is it 1675 already?

Are you growing ye olde cannabis? In ye olde guerilla growe?

I findst thou to make me laugh harde.

Yes I dug a well as there are no streams or other sources of water readily available and carrying in water was out of the question. The well consists of two 55 gal drums connected with pvc and drilled with holes to allow water to enter and a piece of pvc from the well to the surface to drop a hose down. It works quite well.... pun intended.
The water without adding anything is 600ppm. Is this because of high mineral content or suspended dirt? Should this be factored in when adding nutes?

i wouldnt think so .. since it is from earth? but i wouldnt be one to say .. i watered mine with pond water .. they seem to have did fine

I dont know 600 seems pretty high, measurd from ponds and such and they hardly ever go above 100ppm, i think you will start to have problems sown the roud with nute block because of the high ppm count.

Stock up RO water 1 buck gets me 5 gallons,I use 10 gallons aweek and its pure no ppm, you can fill a 5 gal jug at sweatn\bay or other grocery stores. you can get your ppm right where you want it. In my opinion, that 600 ppm your well water is reading ist TDS in the water and needs to be accounted for in your total ppm read. if you want ppm to read 1k then you mix your nutes with that water till it reads 1k, so that would be 600ppm in nutrient solution to your h20, meter knows no difference b/w ppm in water and in nutes. PPM is ppm bro, thats why using well water or tap that is high b/f you even add anything can be brutal and make life a lot harder. In my opinion if your gonna bust your ass to grow good buds give them great quality water in the end it will be best for you and the plants.
