Hello All,

WV resident here looking for advice from the masses as well as starting a place to some of us WV friends to gather and share stories, photos:leaf:, and just all round bullshit.

Is it a safe thing to post photos and tell stories true or fictional on here if you live in a non medicinal state with no worries or police attention :finger:.

Secondly, can I safely :dunce: get any electrical advice/help from anyone here or in my area?

A "friend" of mine would like to share his stories, photos, and what he has learned but would like to be safe about it of course...Feedback is greatly appreciated!

Also, any opinion on putting a 1000 HPS into a 5x5x7 Jardine tent?

Plenty of air movement, air will be vented from outside the tent into the light and right back out of the tent to a window exhaust fan.

The air inside the tent will be sucked into a carbon filter via a Can-Fan and fountained back out into the tent because of the CO2....CO2 going through the filter have any effect on the CO2 - (sorry if question is silly)

So has anyone had success with a light this size in a tent this size?...Or will I need to downgrade the tent light to a 600 HPS (ugh) (Sure would suck to go backwards) I have a portable AC I can use, if I can figure out how to safely get the power to run all the fans, light/s, heater at night, a/c during the day....Hence the last posting with questions about an electrician :)

You would probably need an aircooled hood to make it work. I don't remember what the recomended footpring is for a 1000w but it may be just a bit much for that size area. Best of luck and happy growing.:weed:

i would think a 600 would be plenty of light for that size room..I would use a bigger room 5 x 5 x 7 is only enough for 4 decent plants.
you also gotta think for now that air cooling that light is nice and cold coming from outside but when its 100+ degrees outside in the summer your going to have to cool it then to and with high powered lights and 100+ degree ambient temps i would suggest using a portable a/c
What kind of electrical issues are you having and what size breaker is your room running on? you might be able to upgrade it.. or just run of another circuit. what year was your house built?
Make sure you have a 20 amp breaker running on 12 gauge wires.
A lot of times homes (older ones) use 15 amp breakers for smaller rooms if it is a 15 amp switch it out for a 20 amp, that will help.

Does anyone know if any natural soil around here is good?

Well, it's an older house and I'm not 100% sure of the electrical specs. I think it's only a 15 amp fuse w/ only one circuit in the garage :( I need somehelp to figure how to get some power redirected to another circuit in that area.

I know it will run at least 1000 HPS, a couple fans, and a co2 setup w/ out issue....it's that second 1000 watts that seems to get me :)

I have the hood air cooled and will in the tent too. I also have a portable a/c I run a heavy extension cord to for summer months, but wouldlike to have it in or beside the tent and need electrical advice, I need an electrician is what I need...but how would you ever trust a "stranger" to help? Know what I mean...

Current area is 4 X 8 w/ about 2 feet not being used and it has about a dozen heathy plants in it w/ no worries. I just want to use the tent for better control and economics. Still have another area on 24/7 MH that is about 3x7x3 for veg/kids.

Hood is aircoold w/ glass. I also have an A/C I'm working on getting electricity to be able to handle it in the summer w/ out running the ghetto extension cord from another area.

I know exactly what ya mean i needed a electrician for a while to but if you do a lot of research you can find out everything you need to know. first thing I would try to do is switch the circuit breaker out thats 15amp for a 20 amp you probably have 12 gauge wire all threw the house check first here is a chart..

the circuit breaker should just pop out of there most clip in and out but turn all power to your house off first! Or you can do what i did for a while and just run an extension cord from another room under the carpet or threw a wall and put something by the plug so no one would see or notice the extension cord in the wall. Your set up sounds nice i like it. where do you get your grow supplies because for me its hard to find anything...I have to go to laurel or order on line because most local nurseries dont have the good stuff like g.h or advanced nutes. and where did you get the co2 how much was it what size tank and where do you get the tanks filled at? I have been wanting co2 but have been wondering that.

Extension cords are ghetto service w/ a fire waiting to happen...I'm not above it, I'd just rather not :)

The supplies come from either Manassas, Springfield (Insideout Hydroponics) or there is a new store in Martinsburg that has some stuff...They're still new and inventory is growing. They are willing to get whatever you want though. (Panhandle Hydroponics - 304-240-7587) Only issue is they have poor hours of operation.

The co2 control came from ebay to moms account to her house :) the tank was also a cheap ebay purchase. The refills I get at Roberson Oxygen you can get at any welder supply house. $25-$30 refills and lasts for about a month. Huge adder if your exhaust/filter setup is right other wise you're just waisting gas :)

shit ill + rep just for being a fellow resident! manassas or springfield is to far for me laurel is probably closer but im going to have to check out that 1 in martinsburg. ill get the co2 1 day its to expensive for me right (200+regulator) now plus i have two 2100 cfm working exhaust threw the light and intake they would blow the co2 right out..i would basically have to not use the fans and the that $$ i spent on them would kinda b for nothing. then my light will probably overheat the room. extension cords are fine you just cant over load them..they all have ratings get a thick one and you will b fine spend a lot of $ on 1 cuz itll b worth it!

Hey, WV resident, new to hydro and wanting someone to help me out. I am bare, and was interested in the new Panhandle place in MArtinsburg. Neone have a review, r they grower friendly, r cops around the area? Any info would be nice. Im in subdivision to if anyone has neideas. Police live in the subdivision to. Thanks in advance.
