What are the PROS and CONS of FOX FARM Nutrients?

I am only 6 days into veg. state, but I am interested in learning some of the: :shock: PROS and CONS of Fox Farm Big Bloom, Fox Farm Grow Big and Fox Farm tiger Bloom?
I am using Fox Farm Soil and looking for the best Nutrients that will not kill my plant on the first run!
Or does anyone have any other advice for some great Nutrients other than FOX FARM?
I would really appreciate your help with some advice on great Nutrients!

I started growing about two years ago and have been using nothing but the fox farm line of nutrients the whole time. Their stuff is great but, depending on your strain, you should only use the nutrients at 1/4-1/2 strength. Try 1/4 strength for awhile and make sure your leaf tips and edges aren't burning. Then u may b able to up it to 1/2 strength. If you're using the fox farm ocean forest soil, u don't even need to fertilize with anything for 3-4 weeks because it is so packed with nutrients already. After this I usually will use grow big at 1/4 strength, watering about every 3 days with 1/2 gallon per plant (they r in 5 gallon pots). My schedule is fertilize, wait 3 days, fertilize, wait 3 days, then water with just plain water, then repeat the process until your ready for flowering. Then I do the same schedule and same strength (1/4) with the Tiger Bloom. Make sure u don't fertilize with the tiger bloom until u actually c the flowers developing. In the meantime, until they develop (which should only take about 2 weeks after u throw them into flowering), I usually just water with 1/4 strength Cal/Mag + Nitrogen supplement (the strength of that is 2-0-0). The nitrogen just helps the plant when its stretching in those couple weeks. Then, like i said, i just use tiger bloom on the above mentioned schedule and big bloom at 1/2 strength about once a week. The big bloom DEF has an effect on the final taste, ive grown with the big bloom and without and the taste is so much sweeter with. Oh yea, and don't forget to have a pH test kit and ph up and down, VERY important, adjust the pH to between 6 and 6.5 everytime u water. You should also check your tap water and c what the pH of that comes out to b. My tap water's pH is around 7.8 and very hard, so i buy spring water at the grocery store to water all my stuff. if you're using the ocean forest some people claim it's a bit hot for seedlings. i have planted straight into ocean forest with no problems, but all strains and setups are different. i do find that the ocean forest tends slightly on the acid side, so depending on your water supply you might want to check your ph and make sure it hasn't dropped too low. i have had some severe deficiancies early on simply due to lockout. bearing in mind that i'm not very familiar with what an overnuted seedling looks like, those pics look like there's a def or two going on, like cal and mag. but the tips do look burnt, so don't take my word for it.

OF is definately to hot for seedlings, made that mistake last grow if you want to use FFOF i would mix it with their other brand lightwarrior first to nice it out.
i used an EXTREMELY hot soil for my seedlings but only at a 1/3 concentration of that and sunshine pro mix and roots organic soil.
and it still burns them even tho they are at like 5th node now. my soil has supposed enough food for a full 30 days of life so im going to keep mixing it with pro mix peatmoss when i transplant.

i also use all 6 of the ff nutes and have amazing results easy to use and good producing. my roomate uses advanced nutrients and our buds from the same cutting looked identical so i dont believe more money in nutes doesnt always mean better. also use bud candy and some molasses 2x during their lives once at the end of veg and once at week 4 of bloom.

o and those spots on your leaves look like what some of mine had because of nute burn early from the soil

I do not believe Fox farms ocean forest soil is to hot for seedlings, when useing ocean forest soil i had great results useing 1/4 stength big bloom on the 2nd week of veg but do not i repeat do not use grow big until the 3rd or 4 th week and start it off at like 1/4 or 1/3 stength to be on the safe side because that shit is hot. but i had the most amazing seedlings ever with the ocean forest soil, a few things i have noticed though, OF soil doesnt seem to drain as well and it doesnt seem to dry out as fast i mean i dont have to water but maybe every 6 days with the ocean forest soil and i really dont know how normal that is... , i think next time im going to mix half and half ocean forest soil with happy frog i hear this combo is awesome but yeah ocean foreest soil is really really awesome stuff just do not use the nutes for the first three weeks other than a little big bloom because that shit is organic and is hard to burn your plants with

After talking to a lot of people and reading a lot it looks like fox farms is made to give the grower good results without too much intervention on the part of the grower. IMO it is far better to find a good soil recipe and make your own and go easy on the ffof.

Thts a deficiency more than a burn...a burn would affect the tips not the inside of the leaf...if have to say maybe calcium...looks more phosphorus burn yet no way at that stage would u be low on phosphorus or heat stress or it could even b ur ph...u need to tell us ur the oh n ppm of water n ur entire setup not just soil n nutes

I mean a burn happens from tips n edges n works it way in defficentcies tend to affect color of leaves n burns from inside out

Fox Farms make good options if u are looking to stay 100% organic. That being said i find no reason whatsoever to grow organic and it will cost u at least twice as much $. Fox farms nutes are high quality but they are ridiculously expensive. My recommendation is to use one of the General Hydroponics products. Either the 3 part Flora Series or the two part Maxi Series. Since you are only using the nutrients as an amendment to a fox farm soil, i assume Ocean Forest, i recommend you just buy Maxi-Bloom and call it a day. Maxi-Gro will not be needed because the soil you have should have plenty of nutrients to get the plant through the vegetative stage and once you begin flower you just start hitting them with Maxi-Bloom. Product will cost u like $15 for a bag that depending on how many plants you have should last u a long time. (dry nutes, little harder to mix but way cheaper). Since u are basically growing in soil u wont need 20 different products to have great results. Just a nice balanced NPK fert with high cal/mg, keep it simple and you will have great results without spending hundreds on un-needed nutrients.

I have planted rooted clones in FFOF 1000+ times without issue, that being said your plants are obviously overfed, so the strain u are running cannot handle OF that soon. Keep the watering very small and freqwuent and that plant should be fine, next run u may need to mix the OF with something like peet/coco so it wont happen again.

Pros: I dunno. Well known brand?

Cons: It's liquid and I think chelated, but not sure. I prefer pelletized biosolids. I like FF's Guano and such, though.

I personally chose Roots Organic Formula 707. Soilless, well put together, pretty neutral compared to Greenfields or the Original. Just expensive as fuck. I bought a 3cu.ft. bag for $50. There was a rip in the corner so they sent me a second one free, though.
