What can I do Better? (Nutrients)

Sorry for the long read I just wanted to get some info on the table so people wouldn't have to ask.

First a little background.

I have 6 plants in soil with 7gal pots. Ocean Forest and Light Warrior mix.

3 x 600w Lights

Running Co2

Temp range 75-88

They are in week 5 of veg with lots of LST.

Planning for another week or 2 of veg depending on how fast they grow.

Strains are Purple Haze, Cannalope and LA Confidential

Current nutes Botanicare Pureblend Pro Grow. Been feed 3 times so far.

Just got Super Plant Tonic by Blue Mountain Organics. Plan to add it in with today's watering.

I have already purchased Botanicare PureBlend Pro bloom and Clearx

My questions are. When and how often should I use the clearx and what could I be doing better in the nute department.

Thanks for the help.

Ok for starters ocean forest and light warrior is a good combo.

I hope that you added some perlite in there for good drainage.

Also that soil mix in there has plenty of nutrients so take it easy with adding nutrients when you water.

As a matter of fact you should have not added fertilizer until about 6 to 8 weeks.

One of the biggest mistakes made is over fertilization.

If this is an organic grow remember you are feeding the soil not the plants. The microbes are what feed the plants.

Clearx is a flushing solution, you don't really need to use this. Especially being it is an organic soil grow you are doing.

There is a big debate on flushing organic grows, some say yes and some say no.

Personally I have read more say no than yes

Hope this helps

No what I am saying is if you are growing with organic soil, there is no need to flush.

Many will disagree/agree.

What they all agree on is if you are using chemical fertilizers you need to flush.

I only feed them 1/4 strength and they are responding really well.

Going forward though if I do stick with the Botanicare Grow and Bloom solutions what should my PPM's be?

Botanicare is an awesome nutrient line. If your going to use Botanicare, you should also pick up some Liquid Karma. Its an awesome supplemental for the pro veg aswell as the bloom. The BMO is amazing. I love that stuff, and will be using it for as long as Blue mountain organics is making it.

As for the Clearex, you should use it once before you switch over to flowering, and then once again in the last two weeks of flower. Your soil should be free of any extra nutrient salt buildup in those last two weeks, and should be fed plain water -- except in your case, i'd still be feeding them a low dose of BMO Tonic. That stuff is awesome. As for adding anything other than the liquid Karma, i'd probably give Purple Maxx by Humboldt County's own a try. It really does help pack on a little extra weight and frost up your nuggets a little more too. Well worth the cash spent on a little bottle. But its totally a matter of preference for the Maxx, the Liquid Karma is the only thing i would say that you really SHOULD add to your regimen. Anything else is just a matter of experimentation to find what you, aswell as your plants, like to have in their diet.

--N a quick question - Your growing 6 plants under THREE 600w light setups? If you have three 600w setups, if i were you i would be using 3-5 gal grow bags/buckets, and i would put something more like 5 plants under each light. Maximizing potential is the name of the game here. I dont know if your turning your plants into massive trees or anything like that, but Even if so , i'd either increase the plants or reduce the light a bit...unless of course, the Electric bill isn't an issue for u. If it isn't, and your growing some monsters over there, then more power to ya :D As long as your keeping the temps down and implementing your Co2 correctly, your girls are gonna love all that light ;) just be careful :D

Hope that helped a lil bit, n good luck! :D

-As for ppm, ive been growing in hydroponics ever since i switched to Botanicare. My res is usually on the lower side, around 1200 ppm. You can always add more if the plants like more. But i dont know how that translates into single bucket soil grows though. As long as your following the regimen they recommend on the back of the bottles, or even using a little bit less, you cant really go wrong with Botanicare. I have some girls flowering in soil right now, but i dont check the ppm. I just feed them according to the bottle, and i dont have a single leaf tip in my garden thats burnt from over ferting.

:D :D :D :D

Thanks K1 I will pick up some Liquid Karma as well as the Purple Maxx today. Still considering going with Blue Mountain Organics for my main ferts on my next grow.

My plants will probably end up around 5 feet tall and 4 feet across at least for the bigger ones. I only run one for the first part of veg then when they go into larger pots I add another then switch to all 3 for the flowering. I don't run all 3 at the same time. The grow store was selling lumenAce 600w switchable digital ballasts for $75 on clearance so I figured why not. I do think I can fit 6 more in but I may have to cut back on the LST a little. Just need to get a second card for the next grow.
