Ok so i germed 33 seeds of og kush from dr greenthumb.Within 3 days they all poped except for 5 of them.I put them in rockwool that i soaked in 5.5 ph water and used a salad spinner so they were not to wet.So i had 28 on a tray with a heat pad under temp was 72-78 the whole time R.H. was 40-60.Within 5 days i had 8 sprout up looking good and healthy, but havent had any thing come up in 12 days since?Ive been watering carefull not to overwater.Could i have gotten some duds?I opened a cube to see what was up and the the root was still white and and looked like it did before i put it in the rockwool. Is there any way to get these guys going still?Ask any questions please ill respond fast ty

Well, OG Kush is clone only so I don't know how you could have gotten real true OG Kush, but you got 28 germinated and get them to start growing now? I'm not too sure what's wrong, but I'm interested in seeing the responses. I've never grown from seed and I'm going to start in a couple of days on my next batch from seed.

I find with rockwool and seedlings, it's very hard to overwater but it's very easy to underwater. I usually water until the rockwool is beyond capacity (i.e. water dripping out).
If the tap root is still white and healthy looking, just keep feeding it water and be patient.
I gave up on germinating separately a while ago. Had bad luck with the papertowel method. I just throw my seeds in wet rockwool and keep it wet until the seelings pop through. I've had near-100% success rate ever since.

You just throw them into the 1x1 rockwool right? This is what I was planning, just throw'em in some rockwool and keep it moist. do you keep the light off'em for a couple of days or do you just throw them into your veg room?

You got it. I put the seeds right in moist rockwool. I don't have a heating pad so I put the rockwool on a plate and put the plate on my 600w HPS. :) Works like a champ.
Once I see the cotyledons pop out, I put the seedlings under the light.
I've never had luck with the paper towel or cover the seed in water nonsense. Just straight in the rockwool and wait.

That's awesome...I know where I'll put it now, right on top of the light, perfect. haha, I'll probably hit the hydro store tonight and get started on some seeds.

Just keep the rockwool nice and damp and hopefully they'll be alright. You'd be surprised how resilient cracked seeds are.

KK will do.I should have know i would have some early problems being this is my first grow but ive read the books and read forums for months leading up to this if i could go back i would have only did 10 at at time a week apart maybe would have been easier to keep up on rather than 30 at once but you live and learn its part of the process i guess.Ty for your tips and time :peace:

Yeah statement doesn't make any sense so just ignore it. Don't use rockwool, don't give advice just because you don't have experience using rockwool.

I think he's saying don't use rockwool in soil grows. I have no idea why anyone would want to but I have read some grow journals where people try to and fail pretty badly.
I've only had problems with rockwool early on in my DWC learnificating days. Back when my 1 grow room was running ~95 degrees and 80% humidity. That room with the aid of rockwool became the largest algae/white mold grow op in then history of growing. You should have seen these "nugs" of algae I was harvesting.

That makes sense, I've only grown once from rockwool in soil and it didn't work out so hot.

I get algae and white powder mold on my rockwool, drives me crazy, but I move my plants around too often to cover the tray.

I used to have a bad algae problem in my bubblecloner. The top half of all my rockwool was dark green and it would transfer to the stems of my clones.
I just got rid of the humidity dome and haven't used it since.
I was having problems in my main veg. setup but I eventually broke down and just ordered some lids for my netpots. Cheap too. I found some reusable ones for ~$.50/ea.
