What do i do with the trimmings?? Store, Dry somehow?????

Hi all, i recently harvested my great white shark skunk and i kept all the trimmings from it... fan leaves little leaves everything and i want to store them to make some hash soonish....how do i go about this???

Have the trimmings got to be dried first?

How do i store the trimmings?

Ive got 3 plastic bags full of them what should i do with them??

Any help with this would be appreciated, also if you want to see my harvest or what i grew check out my journal in my sig......thanks all

I just keep them in cardboard box...and yes they need to be dry before you make hash...as for making, check out FAQ, around here is also a link for couple videos that are great. Good luck!

I dry mine in shoe boxes. At Harvest, I separate teh big FAN leaves (for oil) from the trim leaves for HASH. I dry them a week in the boxes, and store the Fan leaves in a large ZIP lock in the dark, and I freeze my trim leaves in large baggies, AFTER they are dried.

Thanks nici i will be just leaving them to dry then i thought i had to freeze them or something like that but thanks..:weed::weed:

Ok thanks roseman do you know if i can just leave the fan leaves with the other trim and dry and just make hash cos im not making oil, or do i have to seperate them....im thinkin i can just leave them cos im gonna be using bubble bags and it should filter it all out or am i wrong....lemme know and thanks again for the help

I have always separated mine, so I am not 100% certain. I would guess that if you are using the bubblebags, it would be OK and work fine. I just know my FAN leaves have very little trichomes, or none at all.
I use a Kief box. I tried the ice and bubble bags and my hands almost froze off. I am considering getting a bubblator.

i just put mine in a paper bag and on top of some place warm they dry pretty quick been making some good butter, haven't tried making hash yet

a tricomb is a tricomb... when you cure pot your dealing with the taste of the green matter, tricombs are ready depending on color cured or not

All you will need is some 100 or 90 proof isophyl alcohol. Some people say you can not use alcohol, and you have to use butane. I used alcohol, and I lived.
The leaves need to be dried first.

And you will need a PERMANENT COFFEE FILTER........ABOUT $3 AT WALMART.
HASH OIL is not really hash oil. It is the oil of the leaves. They just call it HASH OIL.

Very simply, keep your FAN or SHADE leaves. The leaves that do not have visible trichomes on them, ytou save them for real HASH. . Put them in open shoe boxes or card board boxes, in the dark, in a dark room, or under the bed. Let them dry for 7 days, stir them daily, to make sure they are dry and do not mold.
You fill half a blender full of the crumbled dried leaves.
You add half a bottle of alcohol, the highest strenght you can find.
BLEND them up. Add some move leaves and alcohol and blend them some more.
Get a NON-DISPOSABLE coffee filter, it is micro-fine, and strain them, keeping the liquid. That liquid is alcohol and oil, half assed mixed. Then you evaporate the alcohol out, takes a week, maybe 2 weeks, depending on how much alcohol you used. But be patient and let the alcohol evaporate, leaving a very sticky, THICK oil. It is almost like TAR. VERY GUMMY!

You sill need a small sealable bottle to store it in,.

It is MESSY, use a stainless steal bowl.

What you are doing is mixing alcohol and oil, and then separateing it later.
Just like oil and vinegar salad dressing, they mix, but then they separate.
You use evaporation to separate them, that is why you use alcohol. WATER will not work!
Get the proper pipe, I like a glass bowl, and put one half drop ont he end of a needle or pin, hold the flame under the bowl until the oil smokes and then hit it! Make sure you are near the sofa or a chair!




To make that hash oil, you got to have a metal fine mesh filter. A permanent non-disposable coffee filter works great. $3.00 at Walmart!

VERY IMPORTANT; IF you make the OIL, you have to let it evaporate for a week or two weeks. IF you smoke the alcohol, it will really mess your lungs up.

Do you need to use ice cubes?

Do you have a method of making non oil hash with the leaves that have trichomes on them? Seems a similar process that I have read.

How is the high? How is the smoke ? Harsh?

man what a freaking wealth of knowledge, i'm looking into oil and i wasn't too crazy about using butane, i'm prone to freak accidents so i'm gonna try this oil making process first.

what is a fair gram to oil ratio?

and would PGA 180 proof work? the highest percent isophyl i seem to find is 70%... or am i not looking hard enough at the store.

Use butane, its sound if you do it in small bits, plus the result is pretty much instant!! Its an amazing thing to see. Just dont be smoking a fatty while your butane blasting your trim. Mostly though I dry and smoke the trim, cause its so trich covered the taste is always sound, howerver like the buds, the longer you leave them properly stored, the smoother that shit gets

Weather you use alcohol, butane or even acetate (and that does get used) the result is dead on!!! well worth the bit of effort.

NO, you are thinking of making HASH, Bubble HASH. This is HASH OIL, entirely different.

I have MY WAY, one of many. Some use Ice water and "bubble bags". Some use a Kief Box, or some sort of silk screen. I use a Kief box. Some use this:

a combination grinder-kief screen collector. I saw a thread here recently where a dude put silk screen on the end of a tube of Pringles potato chips box, on the end, and shock it out thru the screen. AFTER you gather the kief, you have ot press and bake it into a solid cake. Most people do small quanities with a cigarette cellophane pack.

How is the high? How is the smoke ? Harsh?

THE HIGH is unbelieveable, it is not like smoking a joint, it is sort of like shooting heroin. You put a very small drop on a pin, put the pin in a glass bowl pipe, and heat it from below. You do not put a flame to the oil, you heat it and inhale the smoke or vapors that escapse from it. ONE HIT can make you sit down fast, very fast. It incapacitates you. It lays you down, it knocks your socks off.

Walmart and any drug store has 90 and or 100 isophyl alcohol. I have heard of people using Golden Grain pure alcohol too.

This is a WICCA Kief box, the very best one on the market. There is one slightly larger and one slightly smaller, and you'll need one to make HIGH GRADE blonde Lebonese or Blonde Afganey Hash. You can buy them at a "head shop" or "smoke shop" or "herbal accessories" store or order them off the internet. Do NOT get a GRINDER Box or Spaceship Box. They make low green or brown grade hash. It is still good, but not as good.

Left over fan leaves make OIL. The left over trim leaves are for making HASH.
Those CRYSTALS, (slang term) on the leaves are called trichomes, while they are still on the leaves. In Europe, they call them resin glands. AFTER you remove them, they are called KIEF.
After you bake them, into a lump or chunk or cake, they are called HASH. That is where the HEADY HIGH THC is.

Most people make HASH a difficult way, called Bubble Hash with ICE and Ice water. If you google HASH, youtube, you can watch 300 videos on how to make hash. The most difficult way is BUBBLE hash with ice water. I use a strainer, or filter or screen, that is in my kief box, to remove them. Ther is also a Bubbllator, a $100 machine for extracting the trichomes. And there is a process for gathering them jsut using silk screen, and shake the trichs thru the screen,.
A Kief box MUCH EASIER FOR ME!. Get a kief box of a permanent metal coffee filter and I'll help you. It is easy the way I do it!
When I harvest, I gather the kief from my trim leaves. AND
Everyday, I break down my buds on my screen to smoke, and after I roll about 14 joints, I have enough kief to make another gram of hash.
If you put a flame to KIEF, it goes POOF and it burns too very fast to get a good hit. If it is baked into a cake, it smokes SLOW and you get much more hits.
I gather the kief, and put it in the bottom of a cellophane pack off of a pack of cigarettes. I get it about 3/4 inch deep, I pack it with a rolling pin or round drinking glass, or beer bottle. I completly cover the cellophane in scotch tape, and bake it for an hour at 175 degrees, or 45 mintues at 225 degrees, depending on how thick it is. I take it out of the oven and see if it is hard, and if not, i bake it some more.
You tube offers 300 vids on making HASH a dozen different ways, depending on how much trim leaves you have.

so does the oil stay viscous? or harden like cold pipe resin?... and on a side note i have been seeing hash oil crystal like substances.. do you know how to make this stuff? i'll find some pics if you need them.. or to show you i'm not too stoned

No, I didn't mean 14 J's a day, I meant after 14 j's are rolled. I only smoke 2 a day.

They call it oil, but it ought to be called TAR. It is gooey!
