What do you think of this size hood for 400 watt HPS/MH?

The hood on this MH/HPS light is huge. 3'Lx1.5W. All 4 sides are bent to 45-60 degrees. Metal has a mirror-like finish. Would this hood be too large for the area that a 400 watt grow light is able to serve? (Can't post a pic. Sorry.)

nope there are 4x4 umbrella shaped hoods on ebay they say are good for 400w hps/mh up to 1000w
PS I use what I have and get good results so dont be shy of trial and error

yeah, sounds like the one i have, but mine is a 600w m/h. i got it on ebay for like 300 bucks including shipping. it was a whole system w/ballast,reflector & lamp. it worked fine for me & my space was 4'x4'. hope this sheds some light on the subject. lol just tryin to help ya.---------------------- Nug
