What does a male do when kept in veg?

242484CF-6548-474B-9119-17F4B86F11B0.jpeg hi I have what I think to be a male. Its had lil preflowers for over a month now. Honestly they look like lil nanners more than anything.
5 other strains showed female sex a month ago.
So my Q is, will this plant ever show me more if kept in veg?
Safe to assume since no hairs by now that its a male?
Sorry this is best pic i could get

Thx

Your pic is too grainy to tell much but not all plants show preflower pistils in veg. You can tell they are mature by the branches growing in asymmetrical at the new growth.

Only way to be sure is to change the light cycle to flower for a couple of weeks.

Even a Fem seed has a chance to be a male.

You can put a cutting in a glass of water in 12/12 to see the sex. You don’t need the whole plant.

I was wondering the same thing, even asked the question in a thread earlier this week.

Instead I had some massive douchebag come and troll the thread, and I never got an answer.

What happens if I remove the males, put them into my Veg tent at 12/12 under T5 lights?

This site seems to have been around a long time, and because of that a lot of douchebags have made a home.

It's very likely a male, pic is too blurry but that does look like one of his balls showing there.

It's common for males to show later than females ime. Many males will also tend to start flowering automatically if kept in small containers (relative to the size of the plant) or a long time in veg.

Upon seeing indications of male, how soon until it is ready to pollinate?
They take about 20-25 days to fully mature (after the flip) but anything past 14 days from when they start flowering and you're chancing accidental pollination as the pods mature at different rates and some start opening earlier. They typically won't fully flower though unless you flip them to more than ~10 hours of darkness. They'll show sex but it would take a long time for those pods to mature/open if it's not flipped to a flowering cycle.

after a few years in veg it will begin donning women's clothing, demand to be recognized as female, start hormone treatments and finally state it now wishes to be known as Canna-lin.
The cannabis media will take note and spend a year or so embracing this change ..before getting bored and moving on to something less boring instead.

your pic is pretty blurry, but "nanners" only show up on herms. Male flowers and preflowers are more round and look more like hops than bannanas. Either way, no hairs/pistils is a very bad sign.

I have seen some males bolt into full flower while still in veg. Don't know what triggered them but I know the feeling.
When you gotta bust, you gotta bust. ;)

I've had males in veg start producing pollen sacks under 18/6. The last were a couple Ketama's. They were maybe six weeks in and started doing their thing and growing balls. Some strains don't always wait for 12/12.
Can't tell anything from that picture.

If you're confused about sex, just go to the restroom and have a look. Then go to google images and look for a match. You will have your answer right away.

A true fem seed has a 0% chance of becoming a male. It does not carry the Y chromosome and therefore cannot possibly become a male. You could end up with a hermaphrodite though, which is how your fem seed was made in the first place.

Lol. “My” Fem seeds were made with a lot of breeding to reduce phenotype variance and given an application of STS that inhibits ethylene production and causes the plant to grow pollen sacks.

All cannabis can reverse. They are programmed to in the right circumstances.

And every once in a while nature throws in a curve ball. But I have only seen 1 male from a Fem seed and it was not from my regular breeder.

But what you said. If a seed is a true female then it can only reverse like you said.

Every once in a while although rare you will get a true hermie. Growing both sex parts all over.
