Hello i have read an article about acid dosage where it said today acid doses are much lower than in the 60 s to avoid what happened back then.Does it talk about the iresponsable use of acid and people abusing the drug?

Lot of people got hospitalized

Several reasons, one being that it turned into a hustle. Another that it eventually became illegal. They did some heavy ass doses back then, now if you find some guy at a festival or someone who is pushing it, paper doses can be as little as 50ug, where I've heard a single blotters was 200+ back then. Hard to know though. Old timers used to tall about how good their weed was, then they smoke todays shit and cant hold their shit together. So who really knows what the average dose was back then. Lol

They were usually in the 150 in range but they often went as high as 250.

We saw a very few instances of 300 that were called "two way".

But we were ALWAYS told that they contained 300.

And there were two kinds of weed back then, ditch weed from Mexico and the higher quality stuff.

When a guy was smoking a whole joint in order to get a decent buzz, (remember, we were smoking lower leaves and shit)

Then we figured the other exotic stuff was great.

This was pre sinsamilla .

Columbian, thai, the high class Mexicans and Hawaiian. I doubt any of them topped 15 percent thc.

Oh, and remembering good times 40 years ago always makes the dope better back then.


I do recall some African weed that was rolled in some kind of leaf that was hallucinogenic.

But, no, none of the weed was even close to what there is now.

I imagine what it would have been like to win out this stuff at a party.

I remember seeing Mexican bricks that looked like 5 different kids of bud in it. When someone says ditch weed I think back to the shit we grew in high school. Airy, skunky, foxtail to hell and nanners so big it would stun a Thai hooker.

I can't speak of what happened back in the 60s but come on, people are still people and most of us push our limits.
Even if the tabs were stronger back then, now u would just take several to get where u want.
And I surely don't think weaker tabs would get less people hospitalised or that this happen alot.

That said I've never encountered weak tabs at festival. Maybe because the most beautiful people attend to psytrance festivals usually around 100-200, sometimes 250.

Believe some ppl let their lsd degrade cause they don't realise how fast the sun will ruin it. Bet some of those ppl thought the tab was weak .

wasn't there a big issue with purple acid at the original woodstock??; I recall several announcements about it.

It was the brown acid I'm pretty sure. Seen that movie at leat 50 times and played the record until it sounds like mud. lol

I was just a little to young to hitchhike from Vancouver, BC all the way to Woodstock, NY but hit the Strawberry Mountain rock festival in the Fraser Valley the next year and got totally wasted for 3 days on a hit of Orange Wafer acid. About the 4th time I'd done 'cid and the whole trip was bizarre but so much fun.

Ok, I wrote that wrong. There were only a few "kinds" available to those in California in the 60's and 70's.

Better? We didn't even really know what part of the plant got you high.

How about you name those "strains" that we knew of?

Of fucking course there was indica and saliva and ruderalis. I'm not even talking about land races but plain old marketing.


Panama red, columbian gold, Thai stick, yes the real sticks in bricks wrapped in Thai newspaper.

Don't dwell on it too much if it is melting your brain. That is what we called it.

If there were marijuana cartels then, they just tossed seeds in the ground.

We got bricks packed with extra seeds. We found rocks, tennis shoes, a rubber duck, bits of plastic, rope, you name it. They didnt plant "strains". And there were no intentional "buds" in there. It was the whole seeded plant top to bottom and sometimes roots.





I think you might be a little too caught up here.

Nothing to do with acid but there is a cool group on Faceb**k called Thai Stick Book where they recall stories from back then, I think they are either writing a book or quoting from an already written book.

The first time I did it was by accident. It was put in the punch at a party and I tripped for 3 days. I swore I would never touch it again on purpose. Thank goodness I had friends take care of me til I came out of it. Never, never again. It was windowpane.
