is it possible for THAT plant to look like crap?

is it possible, for a plant that CAN look as good as the photo up above, to look as bad as this one below?

What was the major differentiating factor involved in the production of both plant specimens photographed here?

Difference is genetics and grower skill.

Second photo looks like they had neither.

If your asking if grower error can result in shit weed the answer is yes.

That has been proven too many times on this forum
As a first time grower, how do I AVOID these kinds of errors? I legitimately cannot believe that by just applying water and some nutrients that you can make a plant look as delicious as the first picture, I just can't believe it. I want to believe the second picture is what results from just "growing a good plant" there has to be some sort of trick to get your plants looking like the first plant.

Hey sock. Keep stalking me. I couldn't give a shit.

You know exactly why it looks like that. I was experimenting and overdid the new DTE dry amendments. My soil's also almost 4 years old and has never been tested.

It's really easy to grow a plant with new soil, or in coco with salts.

If you all want to see the progress to the shitty bottom pic, just read this journal. I don't have a problem showing my failures along with my successes. If I'm not experimenting I'm not learning.

Looks good @PadawanWarrior keep it up brother

@bobj1598
I say the difference is probably just different phenotypical expressions showing through the plant

If you wanted to grow a plant lik In the first picture maybe ask the person you got that picture from and see if they have a cut because that's a sure fire way to get identical results matched with a identical environment other wise we are comparing apples to oranges here...no two seeds will be identical

Stalking, what? I can only pretend to understand whatever it is you're trying to imply, someone shared the photo of that plant to my post and it sort of... perturbed me, for lack of a better word. If it's your plant, well my bad, I'm trying to avoid growing a plant that doesn't have any sparkles. IO want sparkles, like it's been frosted over with sugar. I want that

So wheres the rest of this plant of it's zoomed in all they way
It came from here, when I was browsing the site looking to solve an error with my plants https://www.growweedeasy.com/5-best-led-grow-lights-2022-yields-speed-bud-quality

there are several examples like that photo I've posted, Hydrokid posted this orgasmic looking photo the other day that nearly had me blowing my wad. I want the sparkles on the leaf, I want that on my plants, that sugar coated look, I really want that. I'm tiured of getting and smoking/only ever touching this corn leaf weed. I hate that shit

The bottom plant looks like it dealt with heat stress. I know the signs from looking at it. When you give too much light or heat the buds do not look as nice and I can tell by the leaves that this plant probably had the light too close and the temperature too high. Try to keep it around 82 degrees Farenheit seems to be best temp for me on average and light about 18inches or so from the plant Also last time i grew, my plants came out very shitty and It was a combination of things. Growing in Coco Coir has made a huge difference for my plants and I switched to Barney's seeds from north atlantic seed co. and best strains were glookies and bubba kush of the 5 i ordered. My plants have came out amazing the last 2 cycles covered in crystals and very potent the only differences I had were lowered temps from around 85-90 to 77-82 farenheit and switched from dirt to coco, and I used sensi seeds ph perfect for coco. Message me if you want any more pointers.

You want perfect, sugary plants?
Grow in coco/perlite.
Use GH MaxiBloom and silica only..........no additives.
Feed daily to substantial run off.
Never let the coco dry out.
Lastly, quality lights and proper environment.

I checked out that little journal.

It looks like it got a little hot when you doubled up the nutes with Down to Earth mix and then your custom mix.

Have you got your process sorted out since then? Are you still using the pre-mix DTE blend and/or your own guano based mix?

I burned off a bunch of leaves last month with some 4-9-3 Happy Frog Fruit and Flower. I'm trying to decide between a milder all in one mix (maybe like 3-6-4?) or just using some bat guano and kelp I mixed up myself.

Do you have any cool insights?

I usually under top dress, so I made sure I was not gonna do that, and I went too far. The DTE seemed a little hotter than I'm use to too. Guano's one of my favorite amendments. I've never had burn issues with bat guano. The seabird guano I had a little pistil burn when I've used it during flower, so I prefer bat.

I basically just way overdid the top dressing. It was also kinda a test to see how much I could add. I figured it was too much. In my sig there's a link to another journal that I did at like the same time, but didn't give it quite as much. You can see I overdid those too, but not as bad.

I was growing those Bordello's more for fun. Same with the plants I have now.

I'm gonna get some of my soil tested soon too, just to get an idea of what's in it now.
