What is the Obsession with Purple?

I am seeing posts asking how to make a bud purple? I am somewhat new and if I want purple buds I would order seeds of a purple strain. It sounds like a bunch of people are going to screw up thier yeilds to get a color????? Why??? I have had some awesome bud and the best was not purple? Help me understand? P.S. I am not trying to bash anyone here.

Depends on the purple.Some purple strains are big yielding or even a sweet taste.People tend to like new and interesting looks ie how can I force purple...Think about it how many times do you buy bright purple buds a year? not many I bet.Its like when the new playstation comes out its all new and different so people want it.Many times you can sell purple buds for me just because...they are purple..

So since I don't sell any, ever. Purple is a preference and not some awesome bud that grows legs jumps in the bong and lights it's self via spontaneous combustion as it sings the national anthem while shooting fireworks??? LOL

I like to have purple so fuckin much no matter what its like. I fuckin love the feeling of being at a party or with a friend and having some buds that nobody else there has. to me its a little more rare. The visual aspect of having someting purple thats normally green ads a significant amount of enjoyment to the whole smoking process. I olso enjoy things out of the ordinary.
