What size inline fan for drying?

Hi All,

I will be drying 4 plants in a grow tent come harvest time.. I'm hoping that 2x4 will be large enough for all my bud..

But do you think a 4" inline fan and filter will be enough for a 2x4 tent for drying and controlling odour or should I go with 6" ?

I have a 4” fan and filter on a 2x2 box I use for drying
It gives me good negative pressure
With a 2x4 it may struggle
What are you using in the tent now? 4”?
If so and it gives decent neg pressure, I’d just use that

Edit: it’s a 2x2x5 box I use with a 4”

I have a 2x4 tent and use an AC infinity 4".
Your question seems a little confused...you dont need a lot of exhaust for drying.

I find where a true 65% is and have the controller keep it there until im ready to cut it up. Its awesome, possibly the easiest and best method ive heard of.

At max i use level 3 out of 10 with it...once its been there for many days i got to 2 or even 1. The idea is only to keep the humidity level constant...moisture evaps...sensor sees when it gets too high. Fixes it. Easy as pie!

Yeah if you have the humidity controlled unit and set it to 65% max rh on a speed of 1 or 2 (off while rh is under 65%) it should be just fine. I usually just leave the tent door unzipped at the top and that is enough air movement to keep humidity where i want it.

Do you use mesh dry racks or hang it? I have 4 decent sized plants growing outdoor right now, hoping I can fit all the buds in a 2x4.

I dry in a large room with plastic layer on floor then 2 sheets of newspaper, then the trimmed buds on branch, then two sheets over the top, no fans/filter, come in every now and then to waft them with the sheets and to see how wet the paper is, they turned out really nice but I guess it depends on your climate

I hang large sections. My plants have 8 mains each, each main is hung separately.

When I decide to cut them up, I would rather do it too wet than too dry. So if I jar them and they are over 70% they get put in a mesh rack for 2 to 6 hours. If after several hours they are still over 70...back to mesh. Once under 70 they are left in jars and burp cured down to 62. If you jar under 70 to start, no mesh.

If the 4 plants are big then no. You should consider staggering 10 days apart in 2 sets.

I can’t get temps under 72 anywhere throughout the house.. especially in a tent.
Had to come up with something quick so I decided on this
Cost me like 7 dollars for just the boxes
Had everything else on hand
Easy to move around
No smell until I open it
I dry 7 days then do a light trim
Leave hanging for another week or 5 days then full trim and jar.
I burp my jars that sit in the bottom of the box.
It’ll hold about a# of wet
Temps go between 62-69
Humidity sets around 56-65 (depending how much is hanging)
I just don’t know how else I can accomplish the temp&humid anywhere else.
Maybe with another tent with duct hooked to the ac outlet like this but fuck getting a tent just for that.

Yeah, I guess I left out some details. I want to control the odour while drying my plants in the grow tent.
Well.... No matter what you do if you are running a fan and filter circulating air through a tent, its going to dry to fast unless you can regulate the air going into the tent to 65%
