Loosely packed was usually pretty decent, the tighter pressed the worse it was.
It wasn't old, it just got very dry very fast being transported through the desert.
The Oaxacan was always real good.

Oaxacan from late 70's. I've been trying on and off for 10 years, cant get a sprout.
I threw bags of seeds like this away. Now I'm paying $10-20 a piece!

Holy crap! I had a friend give me a bag with thousands of seeds years ago. Not a single one sprouted. Maybe paraquat? They used to spray that herbicide on weed and it still ended up in America. Seeds could be sterile.

No I doubt that, they were all from good smoke. I gave all my stuff to a guy when I had to quit smoking for work in 1980 and he stored them in his attic.
An attic in Pittsburgh can reach 150 in the summer and pretty close to freezing in the winter. Thirty years of that temp swing didn't help them.
I got a few to ooze white gunk, that's about it.
My friend in Texas used to let me look through a ton of bricks to pick the 50 I liked. That's how I got to pick the least compressed ones.
The Mexicans used to call me "el raton" they said I was like a mouse looking for cheese.
aaaaaawwww Texas I meese you so much.

I feel left out, here in southern new england i never see brick weed. I seen it come through the area one time in my late teens, "30 years ago" but that was it. Lesser quality buds aroung here are called mids which is just basically good nuga nugs with some seeds.

I was in Mexico in 2014 and bought a 1/4 ounce of pot which was loaded with seeds....I brought home 92 nice looking seeds

My guess they were sativa dom.... they did produce better pot than from which they came from

these were grown Hempy style in 2L pop bottle

Eighties bagseed created this in 1986. It's a shity old picture but that's about 18 inch long by 5 inch across baseball bat cola. This would stand up to anything grown today. I collected seeds back in the very early 80s. 1984 I grew two plants, one was from a pound of big bud Hawaiian that my buddy was getting from Hawaii. The other plant was from a pound of weed that we called "afi" . It was probably imported Afghani hash plant- back in the early 80s we were still getting weed from exotic countries, not just Mexico. Anyway I grew the two plants The Afghani turned male the Hawaiian plant was female. I isolated the male, collected its pollen and dusted one lower Bud on the Hawaiian plant. The result was four seeds. It was a long time ago I don't know what happened to the rest of them but I ended up growing one plant from the cross breed between The Afghani and the Hawaiian, which grew huge dense frosty lime green buds like nothing I'd ever seen. I ended up with about 6 oz of the most unbelievable weed we had ever experienced back in 1986. You know you back then you just got whatever weed you could get. There were no asking for specifics, nobody really knew what it was, I think of these buds all the time, everytime I grow. We nicknamed this weed "Seal Beach poison" long before the Durban Poison strain was realized. Oh how I wish what I knew now, then.

Yes youngsters us oldsters knew how to grow weed in the 80s. High times and a book taught me a lot in 1980. I used basically the same nutrients everybody is using today- just wasn't cookie cutter with a pot leaf on the label

Just smoked some real nice michoacan. purple smelled like it was dunked in gasoline and tastes like dirt and earth, but real nice. hard to tell in the pic. The closest resemblence to the michoacan was swami’s one x rks/uruapan. Story is the old rks got taken down to mexico and worked with a mexican drug cultivar to preserve that rks and I’ve smelled skunk in some of the cherry bomb skunks but haven’t worked my way through the one rks to have an opinion but that mexican came out several times in both the cbskunk and the onerks. Smells very similar to this mexican landrace. It’s good to see the preservation work done proper. Anyway, I’m rambling. Good work in those lines if you feel like diving back through history. image.jpg

Mexican brick weed is basically made from hemp that's grown out in the wild where lots of males and females grow together. they compress it all together seeds and all. it's probably about 5% THC maximum
