What the heck is this stuff???

These ladies are a few months old.. outdoors in FF ocean forest soil. I just noticed this stuff today while watering. Its weird, it almost looks like its running but not all of the leaves look that way(also some birds have craped on it before and with the rain its hard to tell which spots they were). I looked at some leaves under my 30x scope and I can't tell anything...they are just little white things that seem like they gather around the tiny hairs on the leaves. One other thing...2 days before I moved the plants to here, I put down some powder style bug killer/repellent. I don't think the rain could have stirred the dust up and it settled on the leaves...do you guys? I'm just praying that its not some kind of mildew or something bad. So...anybody know what to do?

like the other guy said, could be mold.

or could be bug eggs.

use the ol' tobacco spray for extra security.

take a pinch of snuff or 3 ciggs, soak in the water you use on your plants over night. take out the ciggs or snuff, and spray all over your plants. The nicotine kills bugs (and maybe molds) and the smell of tobacco and nicotine deters animals.

The main stem on 2 of my plants looked like that. If you see a lil bug that looks like a huge, white flea on your leaves or stem, kill them and spray with tobbacco water.

The fact that it looks like it got runy with the water is weird though...mold and mildew don't get washed away like that do they? I guess I'll dose them with some neem oil. I didn't know that neem helps with mildew. It needs some neem anyway...the bugs are having a regular feast.

Could well be the powder you put down got blown about and some ended up on the leaves. Is it the same colour? Can you brush it off?

Often mildew will follow the viens because water runs along them and that part of the leaf stay wet a little longer after rainfall. Neem will help control the spread of mildew.

Well...I gave a good dose of neem oil yesterday, and this morning there was no more white crap. So residue or mildew its gone (fingers crossed). I'll post some pics of the babes in a bit.
