thx man, would 16 hours be that bad..what its at now...also change the lights to lower lumen output? or keep the same cause of cfls

flower = higher lumens, that seems to be the consensus
i actually use the same wattage for veg and flower, 78w(or so), but use 2700k cfl's for the flower, and they have somewhat higher lumen output
definitely don't want to decrease the light during flower
16 hrs of dark is no problem, extra dark(within reason) does no harm

remember you also want the 2700k CFL's for flower, check out my current grow, maybe more for inspiration on your next as I'm a ScrOG man myself (give it 20 mins or so I forgot I had all them images deleted when RIU got raped, just gonna take another quick one : )

here ya go:

Hx80cm Wx90cm Dx38cm (minus 25cm in width as those 25 are the veg section)

You said earlier whats the point of investing in a setup 'cause you might as well just buy weed, how about you use that money that you would normally spend on weed and get a good setup, you'll yield your money back no problem, my first grow I dropped £400 and got 3oz which was (at the time) easily £500-600 worth of weed.

This cab cost £30 to make the HPS cost £60 extraction and filter cost £110 and medium only cost £5 that'll last 2-3 grows Nutes only cost £15
My last grow paid for the extraction, soil and the nutes so all I need to recoup from this grow is the £90 for the extra light and cab :) that's only 15 grams of weed and this cab all in all I have estimated to be able to produce anything above 100g and a max of 250g and I reckon the 250g is totally do-able if I keep my shit together.

Flowering takes place when the light is ON for 12 hours or LESS, technically (though I wouldn't recommend) you can flower at 8hours on 16hours off its the 'shorter days' that your simulating that convince the plant it's winter time and needs to flower.

Higher lumens more watts etc are all good for flower but if you gotta start ghetto you gotta start somewhere right, I know I've been there :)

Stay Frosty!

I would spend money on a good setup if i could harvest more often(veg and flower room not just one room), or have more plants. The amount i would harvest from one small plant won't be enough to get me to next harvest....Also, when you start upgrading your setup and adding more things/plants, the power bill is going up..i dont pay that bill so i want to try n keep the bill the exact same as before..through being smart with all my other uses of electricity.

Don't get me wrong theres a couple things id be willing to invest in such as a new fixture of some sort to hold my lights, as well as potting soil whenever this big ass bag runs out.

Grow one....realizing how much my plant doesn't like dark and how much it loves tons of light and tons of heat. looked at it after 16 hrs of dark n its droopin a whole lot..on top of that i fucked up hard n my light crashed down on it decently...its got some recovering to do, but im possitive i didn't screw it too hard...post a couple pictures in a couple days once shes recovered n grown some

little surprised, you never know with a given plant how it will react, i never saw any bad effects from 16 hours of dark
she(hopefully) got bumped on the noggin? but cannabis is tough, probably come on stronger than before, all part of the learning process, shit is going to happen

i got a good feeling that its a she....dont know why. Just hoping. And yeah she got bumped right on top n made her tilt a little bit..and than fucked up again and it got bumped from my other light more from the side....shes a trooper though lol...birthdays comin up, thinkin bout getting some better lighting n possibly a different fan

I get where your coming from with the bill and how much you harvest etc.

My last grow was with CFL's and I got a touch over 3oz, just go with higher wattage, they really don't cost much to run so would still be inconspicuous on the bill.

Sucks to hear about the squishing incident :s

thanks for the advice matchbox n ye the squishing is never good :P. I deffinetly want to up my wattage..im only at like 59watts right now. Might be a little bit before i do that though..as long as i got better wattage for the actual budding this time around..man can i not wait for my B.C. buds :)

getting tons of random tilts in different directions, sometimes the stem sometimes the leaves..normal? good? im guessing its normal and good for strengthening the plant..but on the other hand i think it could be bad and a source of lights being in shitty placement

also...pretty sure my two 23s are 2700k..but i know my 13 is 3000K. I wouldn't suppose this is a huge problem, especially considering my low wattage?

hmmm... you'll get a lot of stretch off of low wattage lights in the 2700k (during veg) if you could say, make a ring of 4 or 5, 2700k's at 23w and 1, 45w'ish 6500k (in the middle) you will have enough light for your entire grow and get a reasonable yield from it!

That would be a really good starting point, or place to upgrade to, for your grow^

Don't know what you mean about the 'tilts'.

Im in flower. stretch much with low wattage for that? I'm gonna have to stay with this set-up until a bit into april. That amount of lights seems pretty extensive for such a small, inconspicuous (especially on the power bill) grow...i may be wrong though.

By tilt i meant that the plant is sometimes not very straight. as well as the leaves sometimes

it's fine with the tilty plants then, they bend to face the light where they need it. Should be alright, did you do 12/12 from seed or veg for a bit? if you vegged for a bit you'll get the usual 2-3 week stretch which happens no matter what your lights... if your doing 12/12 from seed you'll get a fast stretch for 2-6 weeks until they show sex/buds then 'crown off' either way should be ok. Keep the upgrade in mind though more light is ALWAYS better even if its only a little bit more light.

2.5 weeks from seed went to 12/12..I know i want to upgrade my light no matter what..its just a matter of how much. Deffinetly something else to hold the lamp in or hang from. I'll put up pictures tomorrow night most likely. I'm starting to think its growing way too slowly, but than again that might be a good thing as i dont have a ton of room

what do you guys think of transplanting one more time as opposed to just letting her go in what shes in right now......1 gallon pot...filled 3/4

growone

i was curious about your pot size, 3/4 of 1 gallon is on the small side, even for a small grow
my grows are in a pretty similar sized space, use 2 gallons and i've had those root bound at the end
rule of thumb is 1 gallon of soil for every foot of height

infowarrior420

yea thats what i figured...as well my pot is white n i heard that roots dont like lights. Im guessing to let it get a decent bit bigger before transplanting again? i dont know if my other pot is a 2 gallon, if its not..its close

LST and build a ScROG screen with about 8-12 holes. then just tie her down and let the nodes grow through the screen. best way to grow in a small space with less than "suggested" lighting.
