I am curious about using LED lighting for flowering and I can't seem to figure out which bulbs I should buy. Can anyone help me out?

I have no experience with LEDs, but I do know that it can be pretty hit or miss with manufacturers. If this is your first grow I highly recommend going with a HPS system. They are inexpensive compared to the led systems out there and they have proven results. Just my 2 cents...

I reccomend you go with a simple ufo style LED light. You can get a 135 Bloom UFO on HTG Supply for $185. Since you only want to use it for flowering, you'll get more red, orange LED's for your buck. These are as effective as a 250 watt HPS, and cost 1/4 the energy to power :-)

thank you for the responses. If I were to get the 135 Bloom Ufo that is as effective as a 250 watt, I'm assuming I'd have to buy 4 to replace the 1000 wt HPS I'd be using...right?

I'll be starting with 3 plants and increase intermittently to 6 at most in the flowering phase.
As far as a budget goes...I'd save all my money just to continue to provide my own medicine:peace::joint:

One of the things I do not like about my ufo 90 is that the diodes are too close together, which minimizes useable footprint on canopy.

Another problem is that it is only B/R diodes.

I would go with clusters of leds where distance from each diode has been taken into consideration, as well as diode spectrum balance, which R/B only fails to address.
