I was under the impression that i could use bennies in a dwc if i cant control rez and room temps. I had read that fluctuating temps were not a problem as long as bennies were in the rez. Also the bennies interact with the roots to prevent any sludge, slime or rot.
You can do either a sterile res,or a balanced ecosystem/Benificial (Bennies) microbe res.
I run a sterile DWC cloner with root producing res temps up to 80*F (27*C) with a submersible aquarium heater. When I get lazy and skip maintenence the baddies will show. With steps previously outlined, they go bye bye.
For the new grower.Running a sterile res is cheaper, and easier. The new grower has other things to learn that will slow down or prevent baddies in the first place.
