What was your ROOKIE mistake?

Not getting better strains, a mosquito net to block moths and
not lollipopping on my first couple of grows.

Letting a "friend" help me trim, thus letting him know I grow. Ended up he expected freebies all the time.

Left shade open in window. Got direct sunlight on black DWC bucket all day. Water must have been 100 degrees. She died.

I'm thinking.......
I'll go with LSTing too tightly with asti
Plastic coated plant wire and almost killing off the entire top of my Sweet Dark Devil.

PS....yarn is much gentler and totally serves the same purpose but it won't chew through your stems.

I allowed my mainlines plants to grow to much after topping before flowering.

Trusting the guy at the local hydro store.

Also, just happened to me tonight, accidentally drank nutes, I will be labelling my bottles from now on.

LOL you drank nutes! Errr....haha

My mistake was flowering in 80% humidity! I had baseball bat colas that would collapse before your eyes due to bud rot. I mean they were fucking hollow. And black.

Was it some kind of bud booster ? Noticed any effect on your cola yet ?

In the middle of my 1st grow just found powder mildew on day 14 of flowering!!! Just when you get confident something shows up!

Using one 400w HPS for 8 or 9 tree-like plants. Flowering autos under 12/12 so they could be with the photoperiods.. lost a lot of yield potential that way lol.

Didnt make any mistakes... Not mentionable..

had 2 huge plants, one was male so chopped it down. But just dropped it on the ground.(outdoors) well it had long enough to open and release all the pollen before it really rotted away. The big mama next to it was all seed.//// And a guy I know when he first started didn't know about photoperiods and was waiting on 18/6 for them to start flower. lol he had 4 footers and was wondering why they had no buds yet.. classic.

I don't think powdery mildew is a mistake.

It happens whether you like it or not so
you probably grow better then you think you do.

Not saving to buy a decent light FIRST!!

Ended up spending tons more over time than needed if I would have bought a good light first

planting bad genetics

I was pretty much a pro right out of the gate so i dont have anything to contribute to this thread...

Over watering

over vegging 8 plants in a 4x4 tent. By the time i flipped them it looked lke scene from Mutual Omaha. Funny NOW, but back then i was really freaking out LLS

My biggest mistake was putting a fan too close to day-old seedlings. I read for a couple of hours, then looked back at the cubes and the seedlings fallen over, never to rise again. $10 bucks and 50% of my planned grow. Then tried quickly to replace those two by popping some bag seeds…but they never germinated. Three weeks later I accepted I was going to have a 2-plant grow.

NOTE: And while it's annoying, I'm just out $10 on seeds and will have a light harvest. Not a whole lot to complain about since I grow for personal use only.
