What would you do?

I have a 4x4 tray with a 1000W HPS and a 35 gallon reservoir doing flood and drain hydroponics. I've tried various ways... 20 plants with bottom 1/3 cut off creating a canopy of green, 40 single stem lollypop, and now I'm about to try 30 doing kind of a combination of both. Like take bottom 1/3 then trim where only the main grow points are budding everything else below cut off.

My question to all of you growers out in rollitup land is simple. If you had my setup and wanted to achieve optimal yield, what style grow would you do, and how many plants do you feel is just enough for a 4x4 tray. Meaning not too many where it's overcrowded, and not too few where I have wasted space. Comments on the matter are appreciated. Thanks.

I would be interested as well, I have essensially the same setup just a little bigger
Basically a 3 room setup - Veg, Flower, and an additional clone / Mother box

2- 4x6 trays
2- 110 Gal Slant Res
1- 1000 watt HPS w/Hortilux Super HPS Bulb - Vented
1- 1000 watt MH w/Hortilux SuperBlue Bulb - Vented
1- 2x4 tray w/ 35 Gal Res w/ 6 Bulb T5HO 4 foot florescent (to use for 1-2 weeks after clones spike to root them in 6"RW Cubes)
Clone box for up to 200 clones

I've been using 6" Rockwool cubes and letting the plants get BIG, only doing 18 plants a time.

Nice I have four 4x4 trays... two 1000W HPS and two 400W MH and a T5 for cloning. One tray for mothers under one 400W MH, One tray for vegging the next round under the other 400W MH. Then I have the two 1000W. Once the veg tray is done I put them under the 1000W HPS, root new clones at the same time, and veg them until they're ready to go under the other 1000W. I get a harvest every month. I just want to know what style of growing would be best for me to achieve optimal yield?

Somebody crack an egg of knowledge on us... I mean there has to be someone out there with the same type of setup that has fine tuned it and found the best way to grow your plants in that amount of space. Lets hear it.
