I suck at indoor soil. I ran coco for 6 runs. It's basically the benefits of soil for root support, with the benefits of hydro for growth. 100% coco (cocobizz ready to go) in fabric pots. Crazy root and plant growth.

I hear coco/soilless produces faster and more than soil. I have no exp using straight coco tho
I agree a soilless mix is probably the best way to go. I also try to use all organic stuff no synthetic.

I use SunShine Mix#4 its a soilless mix. It's got Sphagnum Peat Moss, Coarse Perlite, and Dolomite Lime in it.

For nutes I use Gaia Green dry amendments. Their All Purpose 4-4-4 through out veg. And their Power Bloom 2-8-4 through out flower.

I also give my plants a simple compost tea about ever 2-3 weeks. Per 5 Gal of water I add 2 tbs unsulphered black strap molasses, 2 cups earth worm castings, and 1 cup kelp meal.

I've also been wanting to try some sort of coco mix soon since they also seem to be really good.

Oh and sorry for the long ass post.

Don’t be. It’s informative for a new grower like myself.

probably nature's living soil for seedling or get some lightwarrior bag soil, let them get about 12 inches tall, then transplant into ffof. just add water, don't add anything else, don't mix the soil with anything else. problem is, you have to use a large containers, like 10 gallons or more, enough to last the duration. good that you asked as most people just go for it, buy the soil and add stuff to it, then come to this site asking for help. By then it's too late. Trust ffof soil to be quality stuff, which it is. good for indoor grows and this plant.

Not really. mixing those components together creates way too much variability. If you consider that ocean forest already has everything an indoor plants needs, it should be easy to see that mixing that stuff isn't so much mixing but ADDING way too much extra stuff that puts the grow nutrient level much higher than what a plant needs. Telling someone to mix all that together and "see what happens" is the silly part. Obviously you're not considering the impact putting way too much stuff in a grow pot. That kind of thinking is why people over fert in the first place - adding more nutrients to ffof and putting the plant in an environment that is toxic. Kind of like throw shit at the wall and see what sticks. FFOF is designed to grow plants properly in an indoor grow.

If I was you, as you said, I would lose everything except the FFOF/HF/perlite/Great White and amend with an organic dry granular fertilizer,
water only and 10-12 weeks later yield 6-8oz. dry at harvest. If I was you. Organic soil auto grower.

With FFOF AND FFHF dOes it have enough nutes for the full harvest? Or from transfer to flower? Or should I feed it nutes

I use FFOF. It's been good here. It lasts (for me) 4 to 6 weeks. That's when I'm getting to, or starting flower. Then I start using bloom nutes. Which, I'm on Mega Crop right now. Seems most here like Jack's, so I might swap over to that. That is what works for me though. You're gonna have to just experiment, and see what works for you. I did fry some shit out, when I first went this way. It took me awhile to get it down..... Lol
