whats an organic way to keep caterpillars away?

neem worked for me in the past but what about for when its flowering ?

bacillus thuringiensis
safer brand.

Squeeze them

no real experience with organics but rad that lavender is a great pest repellant... the article I read said nothing eats it and is great to have aorund your plants..
