What's causing this?

Hi all,

This is my first grow and I've run into some trouble.

4 or 5 days ago I noticed these brown spots on the leaves starting to appear. I discovered the water pump that transfers airated solution from the 15 gallon res to the 4 gallon res has died. This also caused the water in the small res to rise to the top of the net pot, increase from 68 to 75 degrees, and drop to a PH of 5.3 over the course of the week. I assume there was also a lot less o2 in the water since the bigger air pump is in the bigger res. I wasn't able to fix the problem until today.

Does this look like something that could have been caused by too much warm, low o2 solution?

If not, any ideas what it could be?

The roots are big and white.

EC .9 (450 ppm)
190 watt COB LED
Average CO2 750 ppm
Average RH 50%
Day temp 83
Night temp 73
GH trio + calmag

Thanks.

Most importantly at this point - what do the roots look like? If you are not using a chiller I don’t see this turning out well. Your nighttime temperature is over 70.

The roots actually look pretty good as far as I can tell. I just ordered an Ice Probe aquarium chiller to get the res temp below 70. Also two more seeds in water to get a head start in case I need to start over.

Ugh. So I cleaned the entire system and sterilized with physan 20. Unfortunately the plant, being in bad shape already, really didn't like the residual physan left behind. Trying to recover, but it's looking like this first grow might be a bust. :(

Looking a hell of a lot better today after a flush, some great white, and a larger air pump. The res cooler will be here in two days. She might just survive. 20190701_213057.jpg
