What's on the label of the oldest bud you've got jarred up?

Mine's Blue Frost from 2018. Still vapes well. Still gives me that feeling of being cozy, painless, "problem-free". Still smells like if they made blueberry and peppermint candy canes and hung them up in a pine forest around Christmas. This is the weed that got me to start saving a bit of every strain I try, which is sadly 2 years before I could grow my first because I never found seeds of it since I started looking at vendors in 2020. The ones out there are either Medicine Man's totally different Blue Frost, and whatever Pacific Seed Co's trying to pass off as Blue Frost. Such a shame. It beats pretty much any strain I've tried, especially 2019 onward.

Anyway, what's the oldest weed you're currently preserving and why do you still have it?

Oldest jarred up for me is purple punch - if didnt grow it and its only about 3 weeks since I bought an ounce - which is a long time for it to last me.....but the cinderella 99 (I finished this morning) was SO GOOD so I reached for that 1st every time.

Now i just got Wedding Cake, Durban Poison and Cherry Ghostenade delivered today, 3 ounces....hopefully enough to last until I harvest my own plants ( c99, blueberry muffin, blueberry Romulan and Jilly Bean)

Pretty odd that your still finding flavor in such old herb! Was it stored in the fridge or freezer?

What is the lineage behind blue frost?

Actually for a while I did keep it in the fridge, that's probably why the flavor kept for so long. Has been out of the fridge for maybe a year now though. But I've been real careful to keep the humidity in the jar around 62%, and soon I'm gonna get me a wine fridge too so I can slow dry/cure my bud and also preserve my jarred stash at the best temps.

The lineage of this Blue Frost should be Blue Monster x Jack Frost. Sites that list that lineage are the ones giving me the exact same so that narrows it down for me

Actually for a while I did keep it in the fridge, that's probably why the flavor kept for so long. Has been out of the fridge for maybe a year now though. I've read about that being a quality of Blueberry and it's descendant strains, which both Blue Dream and Blue Frost are. I assume it has something to do with the blueberry flavor having a lot to do with flavonoids, but I'm pulling this out of my ass so don't take my word for it.

Ive heard the same and they are very mold resistant which helps too. I heard DJ say Blueberry has a shelf life of a year - that was in like 2005 lol maybe earlier. So with advancements in storage techniques and just quality control, you could probably let it sit 4-6 years nowadays if you control its environment.

Now I'm thinking I should probably grow a Blueberry strain next round. Know of any good versions, something more on the soothing side and less on the cerebral?

A little over 3 years in jars. Still have it because I've saved it. I wanted a selection to choose from.

The oldest is:

Pura Vida
Ghost of LeeRoy
Kandy Kush
Tahoe Alien
Green Crack
Afghani

Next oldest is:

Sunset Sherbert
Golden Goat
Pineapple Express

Then:

Chem 91

Had Green Crack growing since the beginning, so that's my newest stuff and lots in between. But didn't clone it the last time, so now I'm trying other strains.

It's a beastly plant, bred by "Uncle Pete" of the Michigan Marijuana Seed Club. This pic was taken about 3 1/2 weeks before they came down, these 2 ended up getting over 7ft tall and 16ft in diameter. No bud rot, no PM, it does great in the Michigan weather. It's a breed that I'll run at least 1 plant of every year, this year going to have 15 different breeds going out.

Why, you guys smoke them up fast or they just go bad in a few month?

yea smoke/vape a lot and my better haf as well. A 4x4 full usually lasts us 4 month or so...now with different situation we are saving up a lot though, so should have a big stash in the making.

We went through 5 grams easy on a weekend day and during the week still like 3 grams per day.
