What's the best method for germinating seeds???

Yeah I know it couldn't be more of a rookie question, but can someone please tell me the best method for germinating seeds, I received my expensive ass feminized White Widow seeds today and I really don't want to fuck em up.

My buddy who grows told me to soak them in a shot glass for about 12 hours, then wrap them in a damp paper towel and stick it in a zip lock bag, then stick the bag in the back of a drawer...Is that correct???

Optimally they should be somewhere dark and warm where they can absorb water.

I left mine in a shot glass behind my computer...

...although I've also germinated some in a paper towel in a ziplock bag.

I will say that in the shot glass 5 out of 6 germinated, while in the baggie only 2 did. Different seeds though, could be coincedence.

I just greminated WW as well, soaked in a shot glass for 24 hours, then in a damp paper towel for about 36 hours or so, then put them in a starter plug, all except on broke through...

Great!! I just never saw it done by soaking them first, I always heard of the paper towel method. I cringed a little when I dropped those 10 bad boys in that shot glass. I'll keep them in there till tomorrow afternoon then transfer them to the paper towel. I'll let you know how many are successful.
