Whats the best way to cut and dry?

As with everything to do with "Queen MJ," I've heard a few methods to this and I'd just like some of your feedback on methods you've all used successfully. whether it's paper bagging, to hanging whole plants or even just rack drying buds only. Can I get a few stories here so i can compare notes between all you great peoples! I want to get things set up ahead of time so I'm ready without any delays!

ALSO if anyone could provide the ideal temp/humidity range, etc that I'd need for the room that would be a huge help as well!

I'm already aware bud size and density will play a key roles on timelines, but is there some guidelines as to how fast or slow you should do this all to keep maximum potency and flavor? I don't want the fastest methods here though, I want the best for the end result! Quality over quantity always IMO

I plan to cure them in glass mason jars and burp them periodically for at least 6 weeks or so after drying. This should make my babies smoke brilliantly!

Sorry I'm new and find this site a little different to navigate, especially when viewing pics and such, I either get full zoom or 0. Plus I didn't know the thread existed, and flipping through X amount of pages seemed frivolous when I could just pop a new post and help some others reminisce again. Maybe they want to retell their story somewhere else?

Yes I'm sure we'd all like to say the same thing over and over and over again.

Eh, I haven’t talked much myself about it, so I don’t mind throwing my 2 cents in:

Personally, I like to cut the plant down and hang as a whole - if the plant is too dense/too big, I’ll cut buds off or colas and place on a sift screen to dry properly -
Next, I ensure darkness (as UV light can degrade terpenes) and dial in my temp/Rh%.
This part’s debatable, but I like to shoot for 50-60 Rh% (NO higher) and around 16C-18C, no higher than 20C.

Make sure you still have ventilation, intake/outtake to avoid stale air/Rh% spikes (as the buds will start to “sweat” and raise the Rh%)
I like to place a small oscillating fan facing the wall away from the buds, to ensure light air movement through the buds, but not directly on them - as that will fast dry your buds -

typically I’m ready after 9-12 days of dry time and the stems snap nicely, and then it’s trim time, that’s all I’ve really done and it works well for me, no grassy/hay smell or taste, but still researching myself as there’s always stuff to learn! Hope this helps a little bit. Cheers!
