What’s this on my 3 week old Blue Dream?

First time grower. I have 12 three week old cannabis plants (20 days old, to be precise). All are bag seeds, so I have no idea of their phenotypes, and all but two are Green Crack. The other two are Blue Dreams. This evening, I noticed what looks like white pistils on my Blue Dreams? My GCs don’t have whatever these are. They have all been grown together, started at the same time, under the same bulbs, in the same medium. Lights are on from 16-18 hours a day. I plan to move them outside eventually and put them all in the ground.

Can anyone tell me what’s going on; what these white things really are? I just see them on the tops, not anywhere else so far. Again, only the Blue Dreams have them.

Couldn't really say what those white hairs are...I am growing BD as well and I ain't got em. You obviously have a feel for growing because they look good. A lot of newbies fail because they have no instinct and don't listen when their girls tell them what they need. One suggestion...probably time for a bigger home... :peace:

Soon enough all your plants will be growing white pistils all over. What you have there are preflowers. It's where the buds will grow once you flip them to flowering.

Thank you for the encouragement! I have never grown cannabis, but I started gardening a few years ago. Growing from seed is new to me, and giving bag seeds a shot inspired me to grow all my plants from seed, and, well, things have gotten a little out of hand. I have around 70 seedlings growing.

I’m attaching pics of my twelve healthy cannabis, plus a pic of two runts that just won’t give up, even though their seeds were clearly not the best.

I will move them to one gallon bags tomorrow! Is it normal for them to be really, uh, fragrant? They live in my room right now and it smells pretty strongly of weed in there.

I expect that won’t happen for several months though, correct? These will be outdoor plants and we won’t get to twelve hours of daylight till late August or September here.

Yah 70 is a tad bit excessive for a first grow. As for the transplanting. Personally I like to transplant just once in a grow. Less shock and stress. If you go into 1 gallon, in a couple of weeks you'll need to move `em again.

Only 12 cannabis! The other 70 are zinnias, sunflowers, clematis, basil, lavender, lemon thyme, and hyacinth beans.

Hopefully, the next move after the 1 gallons will be in the ground!
