Whats wrong with my plants?

Dissenting opinion. pH meters benefit from a two-point calibration, typically using cheap and available 4.0 and 7.0 buffers. Single-point calibration could skew the slope.
As you're aiming for a PH a bit less than milk the slope doesn't matter, you just need a reading a bit less than the milk gives you.
Try it, then tell me I'm wrong.

I have used pH meters professionally. I have always experienced them to be fussy unstable things, even the four-figure benchtop models. To get truly reliable readings, a third calibration at 10.0 allows the device to be kept more linear.

However I have no quibbles with getting lucky. Right up until the lucky streak ends.

pH meter electronics have provision for value ( first calibration), slope (second calibration) and linearity (third calibration). Left uncalibrated, I’ve seen pH meters give unreal readings. Ymmv

You don't need a reliable or accurate reading, you just need comparative readings (and milk is a good comparison)
It's not as if a 0.1 error will kill all your plants (or even a 0.5 error).

In DTW hydro, that is simply not correct. I have seen profound consequences with a pH error of 0.2, and calibration moving the value by 1.0.

In my opinion, your advice could harm a hydroponic grow.

Hydro is one of the easiest to grow.

Hi guys,

This is my first grow
Seeds: from a friend
Grow type: Kratky (with plan to upgrade to DWC)
Light: Chinese QB 240W, 18/24
Temp: 22-28C
Humidity:60-70%
Nutrient: Leafy green universal (I use it for Basil with great success)
pH: Not sure, but my un-calibrated pen showed my water is in range with bottle water.

One plant showed symptom earlier, the smaller one is starting to show today (photos took 3 days ago)

I grow hydro. Basil like most greens is a low light crop. Cannabis isn't. You need more light and proper nutrients. That plant needs more calcium and magnesium to begin with and later will need a changing mix of NPK and micros. I highly recommend GH, Dyna Gro or any of the myriad others. I personally stay away from Advanced because they have been sued in my country for not having what is listed on the label in the bottle. Good luck with your grow.

Update: Can it be tip burn guys?
I have measured TDS again, and eventhough, both plants get the same mixed nutrient from the same big bottle, the yellow tip one is off the chart with close to 2000ppm, the other is <1000, that is, after is 1 week I filled the nutrient.
Anyway, I filled some water in and tds is now around 800ppm. I also increased light intensity.
I'll monitor and let you know

What you using for nutes and setup anyways, u a dude or a girl too I can’t tell by the name no offence
Literally 2 years later! I’m a woman and HLG lighting is still my preference as for the nutes I like flora. It’s totally ok because Lola means loloita… I only found out it was a song about a guy when I came here. Shook me to the core but I was too young to know about all of that stuff then. Happy growing
