What are the temperatures right where the plants are sitting?

you said lined with foil? are you getting hot spots that are burning your plants? foil is bad...

Normally if someone has a problem with seedlings. It's because they over water or give them nutes. Or the combination of both. 85 degrees is a little high. But I don't think that's your problem..

aluminum foil is not good for yours plants at all my friend (reason) when you fix the foil to the walls without a doubt you are going to put creases in the foil which makes the foil act as you got a wall covered in mirrors pointing in different directions thats will cause hot spots on your plants.

Best thing to do is get a tub of flat white house paint and paint them walls with a few coats and that will reflect light much better than foil.

plus foil is noisy as hell when you put a FAN on

Yes wait until the dirt is fairly dry. Keep an eye on them. If you see them start to droop a little than give them a little water. I don't know what size pot you are using now. So saying how much water is hard. But I can say you should only be watering about every five days or so. Of course depending how dry the soil is..And how much you water at a time.

Ok best thing to do is water your plants untill the water starts draining from the bottom of your pots, and then stop. once you see water coming form the bottom of the pots leave them for about 5 to 10 minutes to drain well and then left the pot a few times an feel the weight of the pot. after that just check the weight of your pots every day untill your pots feel super lite. this means your plants have soaked up all th water and need watering again. stick to this guide and you will not have trouble with over watering .. hope this helped
