Cheap Black Gold Seedling Mix. Any grocery store usually has it. Nurseries too. A Dixie cup with drainage holes full of it. Seed directly into it to germinate.

I put it directly into its final soil in a dixie cup. I run a amended soil mix thats cooked for 6 to 8 weeks. Sometimes they curl a few leaves sometines they dont but they always thrive.

I germinate in Rapid Rooters and leave them for a couple of days after sprouting. Then into coco coir in 16 oz cups or final container. Start out with just a little cal-mag and root treatment for a couple of days then light feeding starts after a few days.

I’ve always dropped them in ffof or loco coco.. I leave them in a Dixie or small container... I try to let it use all the news Ted in it.. then I up pot.. I try to let it use it’s nute up in that pot.. 1 gal..
then move to my final 3 gallon with new soil... I try to use the nutes up in that pot.. before I add anything...sometimes I need extra nutes by the time flowering comes... during the stretch I was advised by a member to simply recharge my soil..

I’ve recently started a 1 gallon hempy.. I normally use jiffy pellets. I just water the center til the roots catch up

  1. Cheesecloth with FFOF ... aquarium pump and air stone ...

I do this on the cheap side mostly because I do not need to make a 5 gallon bucket worth.
I use a large open 1 gallon Tupperware container with tap water . I hang the cheesecloth bag into bubbling water overnight. You must aerate the water adequately to keep microbes happy. FFOF is pretty much buffered at 6.3 to 6.8 and will be fine in solution. After a few hours bubbling , I gently squeeze bag and let it continue to “ steep “.

Sometimes I add a tsp of kelp .... some growers add simple sugars. ( optional ) .
Solution will last half a day without bubbling , so use as needed. And can be a good Foliar spray during veg stage. Drench into medium, plants will smile.

But .... you may need to factor the ph that you use since coco like one way and FFOF uses another. I’m not a big fan of mixed medium type growing. Sometimes harder to find good range between both.

For soil .... I just TOP DRESS it and water in ..... simple.

This was given to me by a great member by the name of Budzbuddah...check out some of his grow journals...

But I’m thinking there’s no need to recharge the soil if your up potting..that’s the whole purpose the soil should last unless you come across super hungry plants... by the time you move to flowering...hopefully the flowering soil has been amended correctly and can possibly hold you out.. maybe 1 or 2 nute feeding.. all other feeding will be water...I think in this case it’s better not to water til runoff depriving your of the readily available nutes present in the soil...

Take this with a grain of salt.. I’m still learning man
