I count when they’re done lol I don’t worry on what day it’s at or anything. I simply worry about when it’s done.
Im not a expert grower. Im a newbie but A plant could look finish an next week start throwing more white pistols. Only way to truly know is with a microscope or magnify glass. Experienced grows have said.

I count from first pistils showing so it gives me an idea when to start looking closely for tricomb production.
It always takes longer than you think to finish though.

I’m not saying don’t use a scope. I was stating I don’t count the days I focus on,y on when they’re done. I don’t use breeder pack guesstimates at all. Besides I’m have my usb microscope I still use plus my dslr I use for awesome cannabis photos. Macro lenses for the win.

What are you talking about I never said you didn't. You just want to argue with somebody. This place is getting more stupid like grasscity. Where people just want to argue over nothing.

No I took it as though you were saying I was against using them to check. Get your panties unbunched it’s all good.

The only method of counting what day flowering begins that is not subjective is to count from the day of flipping to flowering hours as day 1. I have yet to see a strain that suddenly grows heads of white pistils in the span of one day.
Cheers :)

Thank you @Lordhooha , sometimes it’s hard fitting in around here lol.
That would be so cool a husband & wife grow team!!! :) keep encouraging her.
She enjoys walking through the rooms so I figured I’d show her what goes on. Now she likes helping do certain things I’m try to get her to run one of the rooms start to finish for a run. Also she’s been helping build our new green house which is a good 30x40:cool:

There is one reason and one reason only that 'flushing' can be beneficial and it has to do with what what @Lordhooha said about chlorophyll. When you starve a plant for the last 2 weeks of its life you are actually beginning the processes that normally happen during the drying/curing phase early. Chlorophyll (along with some other organic compounds) begin to break down because the plant is slowly dying. So basically, by flushing, you are giving up some of the extra weight and trichome production that would have occurred had the plant been recieving nutrients in exchange for a shorter drying/curing period. Personally, i am willing to wait a little longer to experience fully ripened buds from a plant that was given everything it needed right up til the end. To each their own.
