when do I use the HPS bulb

I'm looking online and can't find an accurate answer...I have a 400watt setup and have 2 HPS bulbs and 2 MH I'm using the MH bulb at this point and the plants are in veg. stage...not sure if I need the HPS bulbs or not or if there is a certain point to use them. I have 5 plants and my tent is 36x20x62

I would switch it about 2 weeks into 12/12. Some say switch it back to MH after about 8 weeks till harvest.

You can do a complete grow with HPS. THC content is boosted though using a MH the last 2 weeks before harvest.The UVB in the MH does the trick. Your buds will be better using HPS all the way through flowering (6-8 weeks) then switching like I said.

Generally HPS is used for flowering period, MH for veg. However as stated you can use any combination or switch to MH the last 2 wks.

if you have 2 bulbs of each you should go for mix (1 hps 1 mh) since that gives you the best light spectra. that will probably give you the best of both worlds, yield and potency.
imo you dont need the extra lumens from the other hps (if i diddnt misunderstand like a fool lol) in a space that small, you have plenty!
