when do you actually start counting flowering?

when do i start counting flowering?

i want to know when you actually start counting flowering because a lot of my plants look well under done. some say 45-60 days type thing i let it go from the day i switch over and count them days as it goes still no diff.

im going to make a poll to get the best info.
 
are you sure because when i do that, i get shitty yields. i veg for 1 month then i switch over and i get nothing over 7g dry thats it. cost me more to run them then what i get off it. (430 super agro)
 
It is more complicated than that. If you switch to 12/12 before it is mature it will not start to bud immediately.

I start counting when I see hairs or buds actually starting on the tips of each branch.

ok usually a plant matures by 4wks of veg so really 5 wks then force flower takes 1 wk of 12/12 and i usually start counting from when i switch, but i might change that to when i see pistils.
 
i remember asking subcool this question a long time ago. his answer was 'as soon as i switch the light cycle. anything else wouldnt make sense.'

also if it was meant to be started when you see pistils then i just flowered a white widow plant in about 30 days.

by seed bank point of view, because im not going to get something that says oh 7-8 wks and then here i am flowering it for 14wks like that damn nevilles haze. get it.

so your widow flowered then showed pistils during its last 30 days? lol
 
I'm fairly new to this but I heard you have to wait for hairs to show. This, or so i'm told, is becouse not all plants switch to flowering as soon as the lights switch they may take a lil while to react to the ligting switch. Thats all just hear say though.

thats what im just reading upon right now because i tried everything and dont get it but we`ll see i guess. maybe i should look for the 70day flow period.
 
I consider the 12/12 switch as the start if I see flowering within 5 days. That tells me the plant is mature enough for flowering IMO. I have experienced that switching to 12/12 too early actually takes the plant longer to mature otherwise, typically 7 to 10 days longer. I also consider "Veg" 2 weeks after the seed breaks soil and than count 35 days before the switch. Using that time scale, I always have flowering in about 3 days and hit harvest in about the beginning to middle of the advertised flower time.
 
I start once i see pistils doing it by counting the time you did 12/12 you can feel like your plant been in there forever especially when it starts showing sex after a week or two after 12/12.
 
I count from the time I switch over to 12/12. All my plants are already showing white hairs in veg before I even switch to flowering. In any case do not just go by weeks, get yourself a microscope if you don't already have one and check the trics. That is the only sure fire way to know when they are ready to chop.
 
from 12/12 switch mate, but dont listen to the shit the seed companies tell you, you are looking at least eight weeks to thirteen weeks for most types...
