When does flowering begin?

More light of whatever spectrum would be benifecial....wasn't trying to b short w u....I'm just saying its not gonna matter that much...I just so happen to have more red than blue at the moment...I've vegged and flower w the set up like this and did fine....ideally I think the spectrum should b mixed....I mean the sun doesn't change its spectrum...why should we?....just my opinion

Yeah, I could see myself not tracking the details once I gain enough experience. And of course, eye balling the trichs through a scope tells you everything you need to know.

I have a process for learning a new skill. Lots of reading and self-educating, documenting everything, JUMP IN, seek advice from the experienced users for the variables, repeat. I can apply that to most of my life pursuits. Thanks for sharing your advice.

how can you say flowering begins when you switch to 12/12 ?
flowering begins when the plant starts to FLOWER. period

im growing 12/12 from seed know and im not walking around sayin shit is flowering :S
when a flower appears, thats when shit is flowering how hard can it be

I start counting flowering the day I switch to 12/12. Though, I add on however long till flowers appear. Which is usually 10-14 days. Once flowers appear I then go by breeders flower time. So a 8 week strain is really 10 weeks. I've been doing it this way for years and it's always worked for me.

it's one thing to put a plant to flower, and a whole other thing to say your plant has begun to flower.
To much nitrogen will cause a plant not to flower. Ie. So you put a plant in flower. It takes 2 weeks for the plant to show signs that it has begun to flower. You don't count the two weeks it took it to flower. It's allways a good idea to keep track of when you put your plant to flower, and to keep track of when that plant started to show signs of flowering.
Many flowering plants use a photoreceptor protein, such as phytochrome or cryptochrome to sense seasonal changes in night length, or photoperiod, which they take as signals to flower.

Some say six others say a half dozen.
If a breeder says 65 days flower, they mean 65 days after you switch to 12/12.
Since 10 people could look at a plant and you could get 10 different answers about when it started flowering, you may as well say it is in flower from when you switch to 12/12. It may not be totally correct, but it is much easier for every one to understand.

I'm not going to comment on the weirdos that go 12/12 from seed.

Not to make waves but, have you seen any of Del's 66666 pics using 12/12 from seed? I used to think like you till I saw his grows. Pretty impressive stuff!
