when i had placed some germs in soil so they root inside the soil after using the paper towel method should i keep the soil moist + warm and with light on it or should i just keep it moist and with no light on it?

leave the lights off for the first 3days then put the lights on the reg 18on and6off,by day 4 they should pop out and when they do,u will already ve prepaired by having the lights on,and it will be ready to go.if u keep the soil around 75degrees then it should pop in like 2days,and the roots will dig deep if u keep the soil temps around 75.

I just mist them about 4 times a day to keep the top moist....just 1 squeeze at a time, don't soak..you can water a little around the outer rim of container....let them search for water...I do the misting because I germinate in straight pro-mix. It's easy for root growth, but can dry quick, thus pulling moisture away from the plant root....I've had great success germinating....95 +%
I give only sun for 1st couple of days.....then lights.......
Good Luck

yea, i do direct soil now and have had better sprout percentages then paper towel germ meth. leaving my light on. i just start them under the light cycle i choose 4 them. u know. if they pop with no light on, they stretch alot in jus a lil bit of tyme... at least in my opinion

how many CFLs should i have on my plants im going to have 5 within a small area im going to be getting the 23w CFL bulbs as they put out 1600 lumen each i have a little over 3000 lumens in 1ft/sq. that should be decent it will increase because i will be taking one of the bulbs and replacing it with a higher wattage bulb (19w to a 23w)

8 or 10 26 watt daylight CFLs should b gud enough for 5 in 1sq meter. my advice would b to get that 70 watt hps great for 1sq meter.

UPDATE i am now using a 42w CFL bulb that emits 2700 lumen and three 26w CFL bulbs thats emits 1600 lumen each for a total of 4300 lumen from just those three bulbs and last but not least i also have a 29w CFL that emits 2200 lumen so all together i have 9200 lumen in a one foot area on five plants just sprouted they are daylight the lights are about 2 inches above the tops of the tiny plants how does that sound for lighting?

i also noticed they had 300w CFL buld that emit a ton of lumens anyone suggest using one of these? they get about 6400 lumens i believe do i need this? or will it just help

then what the fuck makes a CFL bulb better then another CFL some say watts which doesnt make sence and some say lumens which does kinda?
SOMEONE HELP PLEASE

the more watts the more lumens.... 42 wat puts out what like 2050 lumes n 26 put out 1600 n 30s put out 1800 there only stating opinion of choice not of one being better. 3x26 watt at 1600 lumens per plant when they sprout. leave the lights on n u will keep ur soil warm....

the more the better. the minimum for 1 plant is 3000 lumens. jus make sure the 1 u use for vegge is the white bulb when turned on n the orange bulb for flower. but figure 6500 lumens per sqm.

per plant especialy wit cfls the more u use the better it deff. will be. if u use 3 6500k for veg. then use 2 or 3 more 2100k for flower per plant (5 or 6 2100k). try like 3 26 watt 6500k from top for veg. n like 3 2100k on top wit 2 or 3 14 watt from the sides for flower. the more u use for flower the tighter the buds will b.
