When is it okay to top?

I have a indica plant about 2 weeks almost in vegging. Its a small plant so far, i was wondering when it'd be alright to top it? Ive read different stuff from different people on topping so i need some advice? Also after i top it would it be okay to plant outside? And when can you start taking clones off the plant?

You can top when there is 3-4 nodes, if you want 2 main colas then top above the second node, if you want 4 main colas then top above the third node. Good luck

i have 2 ata tundra indicas i might top them, there on there 5th node :-/

All I grow are Indica, Six Nodes Minimum.Works out perfect for SCROG...

thanks hydrotech i will give mine a few more days then chop there heads off, after cutting do you leave the branches veg a little longer or put it straight into flowering after topping?

I place the Hog Wire on top of the plant and as it grows I weave the tops in and out til I have 80% of the SCOG is filled.Then switch over.Most healthy Indica's don't take long to fill to 75-80%.I have had 73 day grows from cuttings so it isn't that bad.I don't think I'll grow any other way.

Alright thanks alot! Say i cut under the second node, can i use that as a clone? If not, when can i determine if the plant is ready to clone

You can clone the top....wait until you get the four colas grown out a bit and take the clones off the bottom..they wont do much anyway. If I like what I see, I usually use the cloned top as a mother and keep her going. You can repeat the second node topping on her if you decide to grow her out once she gets to 5-6 true nodes. Depending on your space, I would also consider LST and supercroping to keep them bushy and get lots of bud

IMHO Top, suppercrop and LST. FIMif they are going too fast or trying to even canopy out

how much bigger pot? it got a little light burn today my cfl light dropped on it, is it gonna heal?

Do you think its ready for nutes?
