Just started the plants on there 18\6 almost at third node I think heres the pics its still to early to fim right?

You can top/FIM when your plant has at least 2 nodes and can top/FIM when you are up to 5 nodes. After that, some continue to top/FIM a few more times on the new sites they have created. Plants/strains react differently, some don't mind it all and others show signs of a little stress. In most cases, it will slow the growth and add time to the cycle.

I'm sure others will have other opinions, this is just what works for me.

Welcome, good luck and keep us posted!

Hey dude I always go with UB's technique. Wait til the plant is five to six nodes then top above the second. I've grown some monster plants like this!

Is there really a different from cutting at 5th or 6th node?

I use B-52 and Rhino skin right out the ballpark at week 1, I like to believe that it reduces the amount of stress the plant takes on.
Once the plant has 3 nodes I chop at second, after a day its already growing.

Personally I think waiting only delays your grow another week or two.

I think it's just about making sure you've got a sturdy seedling thats gonna handle the chop. I've done it earlier too to no ill effect.

I am a huge fan of topping my plants. Here are pics of my last topped plant. Topped after the 4th node and did some bending with the new topped colas once they grew out... Pics show start to finish.

I am totally against topping unless I want to slow a stretch or slow my plant down for a week. Personally, I do not see the benefits. If you do indeed want to go ahead with the chop then you have some very good advise on how approach the job.
However, I find topping delays growth by up to a week however branching becomes stronger during that week.
I prefer to LST or super-crop. Yes, this might also delay growth by up to a week but the results are a far cry from 2 terminal heads.
Just my 2 cents ;)

i agree i only top because i veg to fill my scrog table out but i see no advantages to topping if you have plants growing in soil ya just get two smaller tops that would in the end weigh the same has the one un topped.but like i say i want has many tops has possible to fill the table
