Ive got a nice mendo purp. 5 gallon bubble grow ... every thing looking good.. But looking at tric's id say im at about 10-15% amber the rest is cloudy and clear...
Im using cns 15 nutes i need help deciding when i should flush or should i use nutes all the way up to harvest...
Whens the best amber ratio to harvest at for a purp strain...
Long time soil grower new to bubblers ..

Did you flush in soil?

Are you sold on flushing?

I don't use trichs to harvest. The buds will tell you.

Once I start seeing ambers, and not the ambers that randomly turn early, I look at the milky trichs. I like to get as much milky trichs, with little amber. Probably equates to 10% like @rkymtnman said.

Honestly i would water heavy with out nutes once with out nutes.. But in soil its inpossible to remove all the nutes out of the soil..
So it not really necassary in bubblers or hydro style...

Im gonna have to get some eyes on this thing.. Ive been just checking a few top buds like cola's.. But nothing lower
I think im just gonna add to the bucket but not change it.. And leave what nutes are in there stay..

Just randomly spot check. You'll know when you start seeing a handful of amber trichs that it's about time. A couple days here or there won't make too much difference when they're all mixed together in the end.

The lower you go, the less dense your buds will be, due to the distance from the light. The airy buds are known as "larf", and it's up to you on how much you want to trim and save. After you start trimming, you'll know which buds to toss. Make sure you're looking at the trichs on the upper parts of the plants.

Got any pictures of the plant? When you flush / if you flush will depend on where your plant is in the maturation process.

Usually the top buds will start to mature first. Some people harvest in stages. Taking the top buds, and letting the lowers have another few weeks. I prefer to just let the whole plant finish at once, but I also try to really let my whole plant finish, so I usually run longer then some people. I greatly prefer the full well balanced high I get from mature fully ripened buds. It's not a speedy or sleepy thing, I believe that is mostly based on the specific strain/phenotype. But I have noticed many times over the years that buds harvested early don't produce the same quality of high, usually shorter, less intense, and not as flavorful of smoke.

I'm not afraid of amber trichomes, the degradation process is a slow process, so having some ambers is no biggy, just a sign it's done(or almost done). That being said I havn't checked trichomes in years. At this point, I always try to look at all the signs of maturity that the plant is showing. I watch its growth patterns. Watch for the stigma to receed, then watch for the bracts to swell, and finally using the trichomes to decide exactly when you cut. In my experience it usually takes 2-3 weeks longer then most people think it will when they are still learning.

I don't flush plants.

I have pics.. But theyre all on my phone and i dont understand how to put them up on here..
The pistols on top to the middle of the plant are rusty everything is swollen.. But the tric's are still a little on the clear side for me.. Im prolly 20% amber then the others are 50/50 clear and cloudy...soo ill see if i can post a pic when the lites turn on.. Or right before.. So maybe i can get a good pic for once... Just looking for good bag appeal and some high quality.. With as little waste as possible...
