When to pull the pin on powdery mildew?

Agreed, but it's also often difficult to spray only the leaves without getting offspray on the flowers.

PM isn't systemic, so you could just take a cut from the mother and use a different approach to cure it. PM is caused by environmental issues, so if you are getting PM, the first step should always be to get your environment in check. Airflow and humidity control goes a very long way in beating back PM. Also there are likely spores all over your grow area if you do have PM, so a good sulfur burn is likely needed to kill the spores hidden in the corners of the room.
I didnt realize PM isnt systemic, I always just assumed it was! Received the cuts from a friend and saw these little white dots inside the leaf and just assumed that was some kind of fungal infection. I'll hit the new moms with bordeaux mixture and serenade.

It's a common misconception, one which I fell into myself for years until @Renfro presented the facts to me. Here's some good info: https://www.questclimate.com/powdery-mildew-fungicides-part-1-background/

Here's a clip from that page relevant to the discussion at hand:

Marrone Bio Innovations Regalia Biofungicide is expensive, but it's certified for use on food crops and if used during veg as an inoculant you shouldn't have any PM issues in flower. Can be used as a topical or a drench.
