when is the esbt time ot trim larger fan leaves, exposing the leaves around the bud locations??

does anyone have any pictures of what size the buds are when they do this... or if you do it as soon as hairs form....

thanks

never.......Keep fan leaves unless over 50% yellow, you can move them slightly if you think it will help give more light. But removing is a no no

yes u can. cut the leaves if its blocking light to the lower part of the plant. dont cut too many at a time though.

check out my grow. ive done it on my current plants.

if the light isnt getting to the buds then u can cut them, just keep quite a few on.

fwiw, if the leaves are green they are making food for the plant. If you cut them off, they have less food.

I've seen this question asked before, and you will get two extremes as an answer, but the above statement is true.

why do people feel the need to trim the fan leaves?? If the plant grows fan leaves then they must need them...

yeah the plant does need them. but not all of them. the leaves are used for photosynthesis..

how many leaves are on a big plant? loads....

leaves grow all the way up main colas and off branches. they can survive from losing a few. if they were in the wild, animmals / weather etc could of destroyed them.

my tip is, if u cant tuck, cut. so if u cant 'hide' tuck the leaves away then cut them. the more light that gets to ur bud the better.

i have trimmed all the fan leaves off my 2 plants. it still has healthy little leaves coming from the bud sites.

so lemme get this straight.. u can cut all the fan leaves and leave the protruding bud leaves on, and it will be fine????

if u dont do it all at once. yeah. look at the pics in my journal towards the end. there is just colas there. and fan leaves that have been left on bcoz they arnt blocking light to any buds so i kept them on.

Let the plant decide, if it dont need the leaf it will fall off.

I might give really bad looking leaves a small tug and if it lets go good, if not then ill leave it on there.

Dunno if thats right or wrong, thats just how i do it.

OMG TRICKS! Is that your dog? I cant tell if he is just really scary or just retarded in that point in time lol. Looks scary as balls, but also kinda like DUR cause his eyes lol. No offense im sure the dog is cool. Btw i also use the lightly pull method on leaves that are not looking so good. Move the leaves out of the way if need be, but dont cut them.

I've been growing for almost a year and never trim off any leaves. The plant grows fan leaves it must need them...

i really think that trimming fan leaves is all preference, i've seen loads of grows go successful both ways.
i do however think the buds develop faster without leaves, but that's going by logs, not personal growing
