When to transplant to final pot

When do you all transplant into final pot, I transplanted this one 2 days ago from initial pot. This pot is around 8in across. Should I have put it straight into its final pot (i have 3 gallon fabric pot) or is what I've done ok? I know, should of asked first.

No, you've done the right thing.
It should be ok in that pot for 2 - 3 weeks. Let plant fill the pot with roots then do your final transplant.
Don't over water and you'll be good.

When i see the root on a jiffy pellet they go into the final pot
