When to worry about yellowing? 5th week flower, rapid yellowing and purple stems, gg#4 auto.

Update. Still obviously locked out, but I've added dolomite twice over the last month, I've tried higher pH (7) watering for a few days, but the medium keeps going straight back to 5 when it dries out some. No change in feeding (950ppm, Flores and zym). Looked into the medium and it's just an acidic medium being peat moss based and normally used for azaleas, Gardenia, berries and similar. At least the new growth is darker now. First indoor grow so I'm just Gunna coast to harvest and try not to fuck with too much.

I've got a GDP auto, a Blackberry Gum auto and an AK420 auto all ready (have tails) to pop in some pre buffered (6 flat) Coco/perlite mix tonight, and a bunch of jacks cleaner#2/purgatory photo seeds here I'll try in a few weeks once I'm done lining my closet with mylar and routing the filters and fans in the roof.

cheers for all the help guys. I'm sure going Coco over peat will negate some of my lockout issues due to low pH. Here's hoping the next 3 weeks will treat her kindly.
Love to try those Jacks cleaner some time. Please let me know how they do? Thanks.

Ph in flower seems ok 6.4 is what lve read as sweet spot, l feed 5.4 every week or so, pk half or quarter strength at onset of 12x12, then again week 3. Yellow week 5 not often but some strains. Nitrogen is important all through grow , my veg nutes are 4x4x4 flower is 8x6x11 which is 2x the Nitrogen. As Therion said BALANCE. is good. Yellowing top and bottom, no clue. Sounds like more than one problem. Good luck and these riu guys and girls are worth more than all the books and youtube videos x10. Gg is known strain to carry tobacco mosaic viris. Sooo? Never seen it but gg4 last year, clone did great mom went wierd during onset of flower. Never got to see either finish unfortunately. Ps. Very pretty bud, looks nice.
Cheers. I didn't expect the purple from the OG Kush to show up as much as it did. As far as I know it's a cross of GG, watermelon Skittles, OG Kush and ruderalis, but how accurate that is, is opened for debate. I'm interested to see whether they fatten up much over the next few weeks as they seem pretty loose compared to some of the outdoors last year.

I'm considering different nutrients for my next grow just out of interest more than anything. Looking at the Canna Coco and terra lines, the soil and the Coco mix are enriched with 12-14-24, and the nutrients are designed to be used in those mediums. The 3-0-3-0 for veg and 2:1:3:1 for flower is intended to be used in conjunction with the 12-14-24 in those mixes, and seems a bit lackluster if using an inert medium.

I'm 99% it's lockout as the medium is testing 5-5.2 constantly, and resets back there after dolomite or ph'd water. I can get it up to 6 for a day or two, but it goes back to 5 flat after a few days. Even unused medium is testing around 5, so it is definately an acidic medium.

I'll definately post a few pics of the cleaners when they are up and going. I'm looking forward to the extra veg time as I'd love to build a manifold out of pure symmetrical obsessive compulsive disorder, but the 3 or so weeks of veg with these autos limits that.
Once I get indoors down pat (had far better luck last year with outdoors) I'll pop the jacks.

Hoping to do outdoor veg, indoor flower. I dont veg indoor. Very little.

WTF with this still locked out business.
You are in week 10 of an auto and it's doing fine.

It isn't perfect, but it doesnt need all this fussing.

You are listening to poor advice from someone who is not diagnosing this right.

What fussing? What "poor advice"? The only thing I'm trying to do is remedy a pH of 5! I haven't changed my nutes at all, I haven't added anything at all since before this thread was even created, and I haven't touched them since the original post bar two normal feeds? This was the first time over 9 weeks that I ever checked the medium pH or runoff pH, as I only got a soil probe and TDS meter 8 days ago. Doesn't sound like fussing to me. All I did was check the runoff before I made this post, ran some Ph'd water through it at 900ppm until the runoff stabilised and I haven't touched it since?

If you aren't aware, certain nutirents lock out under 5.5. I'm at 5. If you have a problem with me wanting normal pH levels of 6-6.5, go fuck yourself.

I've grown 6 autos outdoors and about 13 photos. None of them yellowed, ended up covered in rust spots or lost half their leaves in a week half way through flower, and the soil pH never dropped below 6.2. Most of them got to harvest with only the bottom few leaves yellowing around week 19 for the photos, and week 13 for the autos.

Wow so you ask for opinions, I give it, and you tell me to fuck myself.

"...To cut it short, i would like opinions on whether this is a normal amount of yellowing for a plant with 4-5 weeks to go, or whether I should investigate further. "

I started autos on THE SAME DAY AS YOU. Your plants could be better, but are fine for where you are at. I understand you did it perfectly before. I also understand you are chasing something that is already done.

Like I said, chill the fxxx out or fxxx off and dont ask for advice if you dont really want to hear it.

Only an idiot wont hear someone say ITS FINE. Seriously wtf lol

This was the plant five days before the original post. Green as can be. It went from this to yellow over four days. If you think this is normal....

Well now you are asking real questions.
Yes, it could be better.
Yes, it is yellowing.
I understand your ph is too low.
Have you ever grown a plant that wasnt perfect? Have you ever grown one that was in really bad shape?

Do you think, if your ph is really 5, you can fix it now?

The first pic is not 5 days before the last one. Look at the bud sizes.

You cant go back in time and not do what you did. You also CAN fxxx it up a lot worse!

Go to growdiaries.com and look at grows of your plant. There are hundreds of them. Do any of them go 15 or 16 weeks? What do their plants look like in weeks 10, 11, 12?

I shit you not...
Yes! This is an issue.
What can you do now? Minimize the problem and finish. Dont try to get back to perfectly green.

I would decrease light intensity. A feeding or 2 from about almost exactly that 23rd photo or the feed afterward was too much. Water it out and feed as you did before and be gentle to the finish.

You made one mistake. You can get a beautiful harvest from this even if the leaves dont look great.

When I finish this run I'll post you a pic of a plant I fried the fxxx out of that any body would still smoke lol.

Yep. I plan to just ride it out. Sorry for being an absolute cunt before lol. Was in the middle of a hectic argument with someone about the same thing and projected. Everyone's telling me I'm fussing and doing too much, but I haven't done anything bar check the pH and run through enough water to equalise the runoff.

Here's where it went wrong digging through pics. Come to think about it, it was exactly when I gave it the PK...the one thing I changed over 9 weeks lol.

I've grown GG4's for the last few years and one thing i've noticed is they are hungry for nitrogen for the first 2-3 weeks of flowering. They will yellow superfast so now I wait till 4th week to start cutting back on the N and moving to bloom nutes.
And combine that with having given a PK boost and you can see how the balance is way off and the N fell behind in the leaves getting the most light in the OPs sitch.
