Where Did The Bible Come From?

Just as the title says, who was the author?

The Bible is a collection of writings passed down from generation to generation. It wasn't until later (about 400 years later) that it was actually compiled into a book. By this time we have only copies of copies of copies. There are no originals. Hence the reason there are so many discrepancies in the book itself as well as other versions of the Bible. It was written by a lot of folks.

theres a lot missing from the bible. there were over 600 commandments. but the bible only mentions ten. theres missing books to the bible. missing chapters and all. back in the catholics golden ages, the catholic church were more powerful than kings. for instance in the 1600's kings would have to ask the catholic church for permission to spend the funds for building, war, or whatever. so whenever you needed something beyond the power of the community you had to ask the catholic church for resources. so whenever the catholic church felt threatened by scriptures they would just remove it from the bible. from 400? ad (the time the bible was compiled) till the 1300's the church removed scriptures

yes there are the dead sea scrolls which some scholars believe to be books of the bible. the reason why they havent been considered is because of the catholic church. not only that but it explains more than what we want to know.

Take Noah for instance, Noah lived to be 900 years old. When he was 500 years old he had three sons. When he was 600 years old he and his three sons built a large ship (450 feet X 75 feet) out of wood in a desert. Noah was ordered by God to bring two of every animal on the large ship. That included the rattle snakes, bisons, grizzly bears, pandas, koalas and kangaroos, emus etc and all animals not known to the middle east. Noah was also able to get their food. Noah did not sleep day or night for a year because he was taking care of the animals. The animals were the best of their breeds so they behaved themselves for Noah and did not procreate while on the large ship or eat each other. All this occurred in the year 2348 BC. Now if the book only explained how the entire world was repopulated in 350 years as we have evidence of civilizations word wide in 2000 BC.

1. Its alot easier to prove my great great...grandmother lived than it is for someone to verify the legitamacy of something as ancient as The Bible.

2. To say that The Bible is completley accurate is just foolish. I would imagine that the majority of believers are aware that the book is filled with much folklore.

3. ONLY 300 years ya say? Stories being passed down through generations are much like a game of telephone. Things can become very misconstrued as the story gets passed along.

4. Has the missing link been discovered? Nope. Is it easier for me to accept that the idea of evolution is extremely plausable through other documented cases of evolution in different animal species? Yes.

5. I'm sure your aware that there is so much more than just an earth. Earth is such an insignifigant part of space. This planet was fortunate enough to have the right chemical balance/weather to support life. To think that there isn't other life somewhere "out there" seems close minded to me. It seems like unnecessary work for a god to create infinate space if we only inhabit one tiny speck of space.

6. Theres no need to get hostile over a simple religious debate. Science may not have all the answers to the big questions, but I dont think religion has really thrown out too many definitive facts to support their beliefs. Sure is alot of hear say.

Lastly, if this world was designed by an almighty being, who's to say it was the one that Christians Worship? Seems to me, it could be any of the religious groups deitys. Hell for all we know, the polytheists could be accurate.

It makes perfect sense that you will be rewarded not based on your actions, but based on whether or not you send telepathic messages to a cosmic jewish zombie so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present because a woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree thousands of years ago.

To me, ALL religions are a HOAX. NOTHING can EVER be proven when it comes to religion. All one can honestly do is "HOPE" and
"PRAY" that there may be some form of afterlife.
