Problem is that without a dedicated forum it ends up splattered all over . It's easier to moderate this way . But as a former forum administrator (not here) IMO the political views of those who dole out the bans should be a moot point . Ban on behavior , not affiliation .

I haven't been here long and I'm not pointing fingers , just an experienced opinion .
There are plenty of forums for political discourse. It would be a lot easier for a mod to tell someone doing their "Trump sucks" drill to tell them NO in a growing forum than put up with trash in a Political forum that is basically that - trash talking.

Point well taken on the affiliation drill.

After all this time "they" still haven't figured out that RIU would be a better place without any politics discussion.
Funny thing is the first time I was in there was by accident. And when I realized I said that exact same thing about I didn't think it belonged on a weed forum. Oh shit the pitchforks were out instantly. I hadn't even said anything political,

It's funny how that works, anywhere on the internet you go that's how it is, must be nice that they have so much free time on their hands. I wonder if its cause the majority of republicans are smart enough to steer clear...... or if it's that their all at work while the dems are sitting on ass?
This is so fucking dumb. On so many levels.

Unless you're being sarcastic.

I still say the politics section is getting a bad rap. I've seen flushing posts get just as heated as anything in the politics section. People just need to lighten up. I'm not going to change my way of thinking regardless of how many nasty replies I might get. The good thing is that when I do post in the politics section I often get people from both sides of the aisle disagreeing with me. When that happens I know my way of thinking on that particular topic is the correct one.

When you piss everyone off then you're thinking for yourself and not living in an echo chamber.

I hate threads with whining and people playing victim
We should eliminate those in search of this supposed utopia
Or I guess I can just ignore them
Maybe

Such a good movie
I lived it. Even thought about filing a restraining order. I ignored it and it finally went away after a couple years. Over ten years later and I still get calls where I can hear someone breathing on the other end of the line but they never say anything. The number shows up as private on my caller ID. Pretty sure it's the same thing calling. I heard through the grapevine that it's still talking about me so I'm pretty sure it's still out there obsessing. Kind of freaks me out.
